Toyota Prius has a "START" button!?!
Has anyone seen the new Toyota Prius commercials (some geeky hybrid-car Toyota is building)? It seems as though the car has a START button just like the S2K!! I don't know this for sure, but if you watch the commercials closely you will see why I think this. They include a START button in the textual graphics of the commercial. Has anyone seen this too?
Well, it doesn't quite bug me that the Viper has a START button. After all it is an 83,000 dollar sports car. Not to mention, it seems to be the bigger, more horsepower/torque-having version of the S2K! Observe:
I would be surprised if Dodge's chassis/suspending even matches up to the S2K's... But I digress.
The Z8: can't make a judgment call on that one. I don't know anything about that car and I don't have the energy or desire to web surf and find out about it right now. Got to go to bed and get up for work tomorrow.
A big part of my motivation for posting this thread had to do with the obvious difference between the S2K and a geeky little hybrid car.
I'm sure we would all agree that the S2K is one of the finest sports cars on the market. It has a START button. Is the START button something special? Not really, IMHO. However, when car companies start putting START buttons on lame, compact, under-powered commuter cars it lessons the novelty of the START button. That's all.

i actually find the start button anoying, they should have put it on the same side as the ignition key, that way you wont beed both hands to start you car.
It is something very cool the first couple of times, but after that...

reading your post just made me dislike Toyota even more.. Doesn't suprise me though. What's next ? HMMm ? Start button in the NSX ?
As a former 93 mr2turbo owner, I've seen toyota simply go from producing an excellent car to downright "pathetic -ness " (ie mr2 spyder) nowadays IMHO. But who knows, they may do the Nissan thing and re-surrect their "sportiness" once again..
