If this is true then the two cars have more differences than similarities. Care to elaborate on these differences?

The start button is nothing new as stated before. Prior to 1950 that's what you started just about any car with.

If I remember correctly, the start button on LeMan's cars are on the left because so that they can start the car and get in gear at the same time.

That is also why Porsche's have their ignition on the left. Turn the key and shift all at the same time. Also due to the LeMan's racing days.

Interesting input gomarlins3. There are some similarities as well.

1) They're both high performance cars (Honda wins the handling battle, Dodge CRUSHES the HP/torque battle -- and not just against the Honda).
2) They're both production-level showcases of their respective manufactures (yes, the NSX is the forerunner in this category for Honda).
3) In general, the configuration of each car is the same:

a) Two seats.
b) Front engine, rear-wheel drive.
c) Both "roadsters" (with the exception of the hardtop Dodge).
d) Cockpit position with respect to the longitudinal and lateral centerline of both cars are about the same -- long hood, short tail.

4) Both have brakes that perform incredibly.
