"1) They're both high performance cars (Honda wins the handling battle,
Dodge CRUSHES the HP/torque battle -- and not just against the Honda).
2) They're both production-level showcases of their respective manufactures
(yes, the NSX is the forerunner in this category for Honda).
3) In general, the configuration of each car is the same:
a) Two seats.
b) Front engine, rear-wheel drive.
c) Both "roadsters" (with the exception of the hardtop Dodge).
d) Cockpit position with respect to the longitudinal and lateral centerline of
both cars are about the same -- long hood, short tail.
4) Both have brakes that perform incredibly."
By those standards these cars have also 'copied' the S2000
1. Every convertable Corvette for the last 50 years
2. Z8 for the last 6 years
3. 350Z and every Z before it
4. M roadster or the new Z4 (yes, the Z8 is the forerunner in this category for
BMW).
5. Soon to be Crossfire- (with the exception of the hardtop).
6. SC 430- I'm sorry those are not back seats no matter what the
salesperson says!!!!
7. The new Tbird- o.k it's underpowered but as Ford says "It's a street
cruiser, not a drag racer"
8. Some might say the Miata
9. Austin Martin DB7- those aren't back seats either
10. SL500/ 600/ AMG
11. Cadillac SLR
12. Jaguar XK
That's all I can think of, but anyone can add some if they like.
Easy gomarlins3, easy...
I said there were similarities between the two cars. I didn't say Dodge went on a covert mission to copy Honda's S2000. You said "cars have copied each other for years."
And yes all of the cars you just mentioned have similarities to the S2000. However they are not copies.

I too am aware by-gone cars had the "start" button principle. Forget that point tho' for a sec... Here we [s2ki.com] are...pressured beyond annoyance by Honda to deal with our use of their images, etc. And in the face of Honda's S2000, just...what...3-4 years ago (depending on how you look at it) having re-invented the concept of the Start button, I just pray to the ever-lovin' God that Honda busts a cap into Toyota's arse for this flagrant effort to copy what was otherwise a bit of a cornerstone-marketing effort on Honda's part.
Then again...
...40 years ago many makes of autos had this feature.... Proly nobody was litigatin' nobody for the effort. And Honda won't do much to Toyota either. They're too busy bothering our sponsors and our site.
