Has anyone experienced the tranny grind after having it serviced under TSB# 00-055?

I haven't had the grind, but I'm unhappy with first gear. Very balky going into gear. I mentioned it to the service manager over the phone and he said there is a 600 to 1,600 mile break-in for the fix, but they only changed the actual gear for first. The second gear fix was gear plus synchros. I'll give it a few more days and if it's not better, bring it back.

Only one day since I had mine fixed was the ambient temp warm enough (over 80F) and was I hard enough on it to get it really hot. After repeated runs up to the redline in first (some tight course driving all in 1 and 2 at over 6K rpm) a couple of shifts were not clean.

Nothing like the old grind, but under those conditions I could feel that the gears were not perfectly synchronized. As soon as it cooled a bit it was back to perfect shifts. I have concluded that it is dramatically improved but maybe not cured (maybe can

No grind after the fix.

I had one situation where it wouldn't let me into second. But I think that's because I was trying to shift too fast.

No grinds here...but it sure did feel alot tighter when I first drove it after the fix. It took a few days to loosen up, all is good now though...

Hi Revs29K

The first day after my fix, popped out of first 2 or 3 times. After that, nothing quirky. Did they replace your first gear? I think for me they only replaced the second gear synchro pack and the clutch disk. Mine now feels smooth, quiet and terrific. If you're in HB, why don't you give me a call, I'll e mail you my number. Can check out and compare.

No grind after fix, couldn't be happier (so far..)

My grind became so bad that I could not shift into 2nd even at low rpms w/o first going into neutral.

New clutch and stiffer dampening spring make everything a little quieter when coasting as well.

Hey guys,

My car is getting the grind fix as we speak.
I am supposed to get it back tomorrow.

When I do get it back, what sort of break-in, if any, do I need to follow.
Do I need to stay off of it for a few hundred miles, like a new car, or can a new clutch be pushed right away?

They are doing the 1-2 gear fix, with a new clutch.
