I have stored cars for a long time and never once has the lack of use caused a problem. I do generally pull the battery. I suppose there may be some unseen stuff that happens. But, I can't say I've ever actually experienced anything with a properly stored car that could be attributed to lack of use during storage. So, I'm pretty skeptical on this topic.

Congrats on your purchase! I own two S2000s right now as well, although I will likely sell one in the spring; I think if I was in your position, I would do the same thing!

My all Honda garage at one point.
One was the garage queen, and one was an AP2 that had been in a previous wreck that was my wife's daily. It was a fun daily.

After waiting 30 years to buy my planned mid-life crisis Porsche 911, I got to that point and decided instead to buy an '06+ AP2 tastefully modded and freaking love it.

So the best thing to do was to buy another one and build it into a track only car and take it to as many Track Daze and other events I can manage with my crazy schedule.

THAT is the way to have two of them, have a nice girl to take out and show mom and a tramp that you can hammer all weekend and bring her home wet and exhausted.

It did then lead to needing a tow vehicle so a M-B ML350 Bluetec diesel became my daily!

I don't think your 1st s2k will have any problems in 5-10 years; it would different if you think the car will break down or something. Honestly, I think you'll have more smiles per miles if you get a different kind of sports car as your 2nd weekend car. S2k and some form of straight performance high HP car. I went with my AP2 and an ISF since it's cheap to sit.

Congrats, I would do that if I could but I have other priorities to deal with being 34. I hope you take care of her and pass it down to the right person in the future

I would never have done this sort of thing at 34. I was busting my butt supporting a family of five. No time or money for sports cars back then. But, things are different now. Not to worry, my s2ks are well cared for and they will be passed on to a good home when the time comes.
