Hi, have a question, what do you mean by higher rear tyre wear? One of the problems that I have encountered with the normal alignment is that it has a lot of inner tyre wear (actually all over). Is that what you mean?

A better planted rear end should not give higher tire wear, but more even?

I just changed the control arms and the bolts on the rear end so I have to go inn an get an allignment. And get my self some new tires as well. I would be nice to get some even tire wear this time
When I say more planted I mean that during a corner. It is actually "less" planted when travelling straight because of less contact patch (but you wouldn't notice normally) and straightline braking and acceleration suffers at the expense of more cornering grip. So in everyday driving conditions more neg camber and toe-in will wear out your inner tyre faster.

The only way to combat this and get more even tyre wear is to take those corners a lot quicker.

I made the mistake of changing more than one thing at a time when I went to the UK specs; We also lowered the car and changed the spring rates at the same time, and I can't be sure how much of the difference was due to the springs/lowering and how much was due to the alignment changes. However, after the changes, the tail not only stayed tucked in better, but was also easier to control when sliding the car around. My tire wear is even across the tread, but I've been told that this has as much to do with how the car is driven as how it's aligned. Most people get faster wear on the inside of the tire with standard alignment, and it gets worse with UK alignment.

My tire wear is meaningless to anyone else, because I slide the car around and spin the tires so often. 3k to 5k and my back S02's are due for replacement.

UK alignment is an improvement with MY00-01 cars. I'm sure of that. Not so sure when it comes to other MY cars.

I have the UK alignment on an '08, but don't have enough miles on the car to talk about tire wear - I am running RE-01R's. Will be happy to get 10k miles.

Back end is harder to kick out from what I can tell so far.
I have the the UK align. specs on my '05 w/ the RE-01R's and i'm at around 10k and have a decent amount of tread left. i'm predicting i can get another 5k before i have to start thinking about replacements.

For you AP2 owners you're using the original AP1 UK specs for your UK alignment?

The only "UK Specs" are the ones for the MY00-01 cars. IOW, the guys with other MY cars are using MY00-01 UK Specs, or UK specs which are the same as everyone else's specs.
