Vettes a cool car, S2000 is a cool car. Buy (and or keep) the one you like more. Performance preference should determine what you buy when looking at exotics. All cars have problems. Get over it. Nuff said.
You people have too much time on your hands. I'm so over this thread. If I wanted torque and was into drag racing around town, I'd buy a restored 60s muscle car like a Shelby Cobra (in my dreams). If someone says the S sucks, no torque, blah blah blah, good for them. They have right to an opinion just like anyone else and it doesn't bother me because I love this vehicle and really enjoy driving it. It turns heads, people complement you on it and all the kid ricers around town look jealous as shit when they see you coming. LOL I also love it because I have long hair (male) and the 'He can afford that car?' look I get from some people is priceless (yeah, I know it's not a mint compared to an NSX but the looks still amuse me). Personally, I won't buy American vehicles anymore and this was something I've been waiting for Honda to make since I had my CRX back in '89.
Now, if you key my S just because you don't like it, that's a different story and someone would need their ass kicked or tires slashed. Saying it sucks just gets an indifferent shrug from me.
What it comes down to is that people have preferences and priorities when it comes to purchasing just about anything and arguing 'black vs. white' in a public forum is just something that you have to learn to avoid (read: it's pointless). After eight years of using newsgroups/forums/IRC, it's amazing how many people in the world are the definitive expert on everything, no matter what anyone else says. It's very amusing.

Thriller: Do what pleases you.
Everyone else, relax. It is his money, his car, his decision. I don't think the vette is the answer though. I would check out the BMW 330ci. It is just as fast as a S2K in a straight line and can be modded all motor to beat on a S2K. The M3 is sick, but over 50 grand. Vettes do nothing for me. As for S2K's being rare, not anymore. I now see them on a daily basis, a few a day. I want a 92 hatch for a sleeper dragger and a beater all in one! Good luck.

My only thought is this.....
Next time before making a $32,000 purchase, please try and educate yourslef on what exactly it is that you are purchasing. Every complaint that you mentioned in your post has been addressed multiple times on this board, and several major Magazines.
The S2000 was not designed to be a torque monster. It was designed to fill a nitch that had not been filled previously. Honda took the Z3 idea and made it better. People who purchase Z3's don't waist all their time trying to compare it to a Corvette. I don't know of anyone on this board who thought they were getting a car comparible to the Corvette in performance. You are trying to compare 8 cyl against 4. What are you thinking?
Enjoy your Corvette!! I wish that the S2000 would have been more enjoyable for you. Just don't try and discourage others from purchasing an S2000. I have had no doubts on purchasing my S. I love it!!!

Just look what happens to the differential when you try to deliver all that 155 ft lb to a stationary S2000's rear wheels.
I also love my S2000 for what it is. It is as close to a 427 Shelby Cobra as I'll ever get. Well, that's not true. I've ridden in a 427 Shelby Cobra but I'll never get to own one. $500,000.00 is too steep for a toy for me.
