"The United S2000 MEET"
Indy sounds good. You could even have spillover into IRP. :-)
The way I see it, you could have driving events happening in both places. Plus, there are plenty of familiy-oriented attractions like the musuems and the malls in the area.
I think Indy could be very accomodating for a group of our size.

It's already happening this summer in Colorado ....

The event I purpose is on a much larger scale then the one outlined in your thread. Its a all out united event. "The United States Of America". All clubs and their members are invited to attend. After market vendors,as many as we can get. This in order to offset some of the costs. Live music, couple of bands would do it. Addtional food vendors outside of what the track may offer. Anymore ideas to entertain those that will not run their cars on the course or drag strip, feel free to post them. Central U.S. location is important as to encourge everyone. Do you know of a place just a little futher east that would be suitable for such an event.
What Are you willing to sacrifice to the club S2KI as a whole. It seems that everyone who responds to this thread who is in appcepantance wishes it to occure in their area. This is the main reason I suggest the "Pancake" AKA Topeka Kansas. Their track is under new management and have responded to my E-Mails reguarding my request for use of their track. They as you need more imformation in order to make a discision. Its a catch twenty two situation. We as a group that represents the entire U.S./S2Ki club members must come to the table with the centralized thought of a meet in the central U.S. reguardless of where we are currently located. In order for this event to take place we the S2KI club must make a sacrfice to our location. In order to make a statement of the club in of ourselves ,we must make this event come to pass. This is in order to set the stage of our club as a united effort. Forget about the flat lands of Kansas. Heartland park will provide us with the road course twists and turnsnot to mention a 1/4 strip which we need in order to play this event out. It would then be up to us as a club to come up with the addtional entertainment. "Aftermarket Vendors, live music & Food vendors ETC.ETC. In making Kansas as the focal point,we as a whole/club will make the ultimate sacrfice for the clubs intrest as a whole. For the most part we will all have to travel in order to "UNITE". This will be a test of our testament to the club as well as Honda in these "United States". Its a long road for all of us but a road we must travel reguaredless of where we come from.
OK Redline. Lets get this thing figured out and once you do get a set date, let me or one of the other S2000 Talk mods know and we will stick the thread. I'm gonna release this one until it can be decided.
Once you guys get the date resolved, start a new thread and I'll get it back up here

I see this getting off the ground by... never.
too chaotic, and no implied structure as of yet. Redline, to organize an event where we'll have 200 cars this summer... I am working around the clock with another member... constantly staying in direct communication. This is in addition to 4 others playing a VERY large roll in making the FreshWater Tour (shameless plug) a success.
So for 200, we need 4 event coordinators... with 2 directing them. ....for the proposed event above... you'll need half the Senate.
Good luck. If you pull it off, I'll be there...
(to give you an idea... we're currently applying for our Tax ID #'s so that we may open a bank account in the events name to filter registration fees and sponsor contributions through... that is on top of putting together legal contracts for all involved Sponsors... You have a lot of work ahead of you...)

I would have liked to think "WE" have a lot of work ahead of "US". Never did I think for a moment that I myself could pull off such a huge event. I don't even know where to begin to finalize such a meet. I have a concept that I hoped the international would embrace! I only placed my concept of "The United S2000 Meet" in hopes to gain support for an historical event. If "WE" were to pull it off,It would no doubt be in your mind as you took your last breath on this earth. The honda S2000 is a great car that has not yet gotten the recognition it truely deserves. This meet would be the S2000's day indeed. I thought a club as big as this one would be up to the maximum commitment. Which is no doubt what I'm talking about here.
....?

Are you really just now responding to a post I wrote 3 months ago!????
I do not want to be cynical, because I have as much enthusiasm and love for the car as you... and would love to see this get going... BUT...
...it just took you THREE MONTHS to reply to your own thread regarding a dream your so passionate about!
Right now, your idea seems to be nothing more than random soap box dreaming.
If you show me commitment from yourself, and assemble a committee, grab some hotel listings... get some word from the proposed track... get the owners of s2ki behind you... then it will become "we"... and no longer "you"... until then your just shootin' ideas with no intention of acting upon them.

Hey guy's, this is just my $.02 but here's an idea that could get the ball rolling on this project.
First: Get in touch with the CO's for all the regional clubs and have them set up an interest thread with your idea. Give them a Date range of when you might want to host this. I would think we are talking about 2005 at this point. You dont have to have all the specifics nailed down, at this point you just want to see who's interested.
Second: Within the regional commumities, find out who would want to be a "regional orginizer" It can be a CO if they are interested or anyone else in the community who would be willing to take on the task.
Third: (Or maybe should have been first
) Who will be in charge of this event? At least if you have theese three thing's in place you'll have some sort of "Chain of command", and you can start to get some feedback from the community as a whole.
Again...Just some thing's to think about.
