Sorry the reply took so long. Been very busy. Schedule changes at work "Bread & butter". Lots of work around the house. To be honest I felt the idea/concept was going nowhere and was'nt sure how to go about the next step if there was one. I'm still in. I'm somewhat of a patient man. I waited five & one half years for my 2000 S2000 as it went through development. So I guess I can wait/watch/listen for this event to become reality for a few years or longer. Perhaps I should have introduced the idea on the premiss of positive feedback only. But controversy seems to make the world go round. Unfortunately this only results in delays & misconception etc... So bottom line is,I'll keep plugging and I hope you'll do the same.

without some sort of action, all it will be is plugging. start with a date and location and the rest will be much easier to organize instead of having things up in the air.

Local CO's ar a good tool in drumming up support for this and could help you plot some roads.

I still don't see what the point in setting something like this up when S2KCA is already planning an S2000 event in Colorado this Summer. Just because the owners of this board and some of the officers of S2KCA fight like a bunch of babies doesn't mean we should try and reinvent the wheel. Why not throw your effort behind the event that already has people working on planning it and WILL happen instead of somebody's pipedream that will probably never get off the ground?

Colorado was very nice when our family was there visiting relatives back in 1973. However the three day plus drive was a bitch even in a huge chevy caprice with a 427ci eng.@ speeds closing in on the century mark at times. This location pretty much kisses off the entire east coast members. I choose the central U.S.only to give equal opportunity/distance to all members. It seemed only fair to the club members as a whole. Hence the name "THE UNITED S2000 MEET". I'll be watching the event as it unfolds in Colorado. If I can string two weeks off together I may just make the run. Long live the "S2K INTERNATIONAL" and its friendly/selfless out going members.

I don't feel like going back and checking to see if it's changed, but I remember your original proposal was for having your event in Kansas. If someone from the east coast can get to Kansas, Colorado is right next door, though neither location is ideal for people on either the East OR West coasts. It would sure be convenient for me though Kansas is far from the top of my list for ideal locations for vacation.

S2KCA moves their event around every year so that more people from different parts of the country can go to it. You can never schedule an event in a country the size of the US that is convenient for everyone. The best alternative is to move it around and make it so most parts of the country have an event in their area every few years. That is what pretty much every other car club does.

I'm not trying to be rude, just wondering why you are trying to set up a competing event to one that is already being planned for. Especially when S2000 owners are already a pretty small group as it is. No need in any further splintering of the group. I understand that Colorado may not be convenient for you, so maybe you should get some other people from your area to work on planning for next year's S2KDays. I know that the support of the Colorado area owners in helping to plan the event is a large reason why it is in Colorado this year. S2KDays was in Austin, TX last year and Asheville, NC the year before that, so it's not in CO every year. You should go over to the s2kca forum and let them know of your enthusiasm for planning an event and I'm sure they would welcome your help.

Sorry, what's your point? Did you even read my post? I said that the only way you get people to events like this is to MOVE it around and make it close to them. I don't think anyone is expecting tons of people and that is why I was trying to explain that his expectations are not realistic for thousands of S2000 owners to converge on KS.

Never did say the location was to be changed from Kansas. All I was saying was I was going to watch and see what turned up in colorado. Perhaps I would go if I could get enough time off together. Also it would depend on how many members you could get to make a commitment to attend. Then in the near future set something up a little closer to the east side of the U.S. & see who makes the commitment. My plan is lets get it all together at one time and place. Start counting the current members, looks to be well over one thousand to me. Its seems the hard part is getting all the members intrested in such a grand meeting off all members together in one spot at one time. Perhaps a new thread should be started. one that would ask the question, Would you like to meet together with members from all the various clubs within the S2KI International at one place & time,a once in a liftime experience, yes or no? Start a list of those that are yes and those that are no. After a period of time see if there is enough intrest to start the planing stage. I feel that this question must be posted in all clubs at the same time by the president of the S2KI. This would make it offical. Let see what happens.
