"The United S2000 MEET"
Sure, I'm there!
Perhaps it would be a good idea to start a new Forum for this event, similar to that of the Fall Colors etc. Then do some regional threads. Maybe PM the moderator from each region and tell them whats up and ask to start a thread in the new forum. Err...something along those lines.
Good luck! See you in the summer

One experience to draw from [smaller...but still large as meets go] as organization develops is that we would probably need to delegate "regional management" of groups via our regional forum coordinators/moderators. Very likely that most would be interested in attending
...and if there were a conflict that would not allow for a particular regional coordinator's attendance, a second (highly participatory) owner might be willing to step in. Ultimately, however, the idea being that smaller groups (of anywhere from 20 to 200) within the context of the 1K to 5K mega-group could be managed via forum coordinators/moderators. But seriously...neither 1 nor a group of 3 to 5 folks determined to rifle out the details will be able to accomplish this feat. This will require a definitive task list, assignments of responsibilities, e-mail newsletters within the regional coordinators circle, dissimination of information to interested participants via regional forums, coordination of waypoint meets as convoys gather momentum, etc.
.
Oh...and count me in!

Thanks w1ngman for being willing to help. Very stright forward logical information. I'd be glad to have you in my corner anytime
Your posting depicts your demeanor at the dragon this past sept. I don't believe we meet formally at the dragon but you seemed to be a take charge type of person. I/we need people such as yourself to bring this MAJOR S2KI event together. Who knows there might still be a chance for "The United S2000 Meet" somewhere in the midwest this upcoming year. If not perhaps the next. I've no immediate plans of parting with my S2000. The door is open. Lets drive
I know this isn't too central but we could probably make this work near Las Vegas, NV. It is the largest hotel city on the planet and we could easily fit 5,000 of our closest friends in a dozen or so hotels.
Also, camping? S2000s. How do you fit a tent, two sleeping bags, clothes and toiletries in your trunk? We're still talking about our tiny S's, right?
