so guys......is it even worth taking it to the dealer for replacement of the throw out bearing. If the whining is going to come back after a few thousand miles, why replace it. Besides the dealer that will do the warranty work is about 60 miles away from me. Let me know what you guys think.

don't do it. Bad noises almost always get worse.. If this happens, get it fixed. as mentioned above, a slight whirling noise is not indicitive of a serious problem.

that would be the exhaust components cooling off and contracting.. completely normal. mine will do it sometimes while still running after a very hard run.

This thread is a clear example of paranoia feeding the lack of mechanical experience, which in turn feeds the insecure.
