Skip,

It's not that I don't respect the frustration of everyone involved. I actually do.

That said, the fact that someone got ripped off (either in this instance or another) isn't specifically the fault of s2ki. I'm not saying we don't have a responsibility, but when a business deal of this level is engaged in both sides need to take reasonable steps to protect themselves.

The fact that I vouched for the seller is my personal choice at the time I made it. I didn't do it as a moderator. Heck, I don't even MODERATE as a moderator. I don't lock threads or boot people because I don't like or agree with them. I am open and honest.

Unfortunately, this deal seems to have gone south. I'm just trying to keep the discussion focused on the facts so we can preserve some possibility of resolving it effectively.

All I'm saying is if the buyer can remain level about this shouldn't the rest of us that DON'T have $1500 invested in it be able to bite our tongues? Either that or we don't really care about his problem, but only about how it impacts us?!

Portland,

Please feel free to keep your ignorant editorialism to yourself. It's not needed nor appreciated. I vouched for the seller because I know him personally and felt that there had to be another side to the story.

I figured that having people such as you and others blindly bashing someone without knowing the whole story was counter productive.

Was I wrong in vouching for the seller? At the moment I would say yes. That said, your commentary still adds little to no value. Thanks for your time, though...

While my statement may be considered ignorant by you, after reading most of the posts, I would say that the majority seem to agree with me. IMHO, I think it just looks bad when mods "stick up" for sellers especially when the sale (to date) has gone bad.

Either way, this is not about me, you or anyone else in thread except for Trip & s2k1. Lets just hope this gets resolved soon and Trip gets his coilovers

Bass,

Henceforth you can assume that everything I say on this this thread or any other UNLESS I SPECIFY OTHERWISE to be coming from ME...not a Moderator. That is the case here and has always been the case. It's not by my choice that Moderator is listed under my title.

That said, I never implied in any way shape or form that I was piping up on this or the other thread as a moderator...merely as someone that knows the seller and I further offered to try to facilitate the resolution of this issue. You want to hold me to a higher standard then fine, but I believe I have lived up to what I offered and I have not stopped trying to resolve this issue.

I fully believe that s2ki has a vested interest in resolving this so that everyone is comfortable with the potential marketplace, but I don't think it is our responsibility to vouch for each and every sale.

I'm involved to help the buyer get what he deserves and not unnecessarily trash the sellers reputation in the meantime. I don't know both sides of the original issue as to why it's taken this long...I only know what I've read in the threads posted recently on this board. The difference is that, unlike many that are posting on this thread, I have tried to remain objective and not jump to conclusions.

As for justifying my involvement to you...go pound sand. I don't owe YOU anything now or ever.

Again, every word of this post is written as a person who happens to post on s2ki, NOT as a moderator. I do not speak for s2ki as an entity or for moderators in this post. If you have any issues with the propriety of what I have to say you can feel free to suggest to Honda Gal, cthree or anyone else that I be removed as a moderator or kicked off the board or you can simply take it to me in PM.

I'm bowing out of further response on this issue. If Trip wants or needs my assistance he has my contact information.

Hey Portland... that's quite enough out of you. Please move on! Brant is trying to help here. The only thing you seem to be doing is wasting his time, and whoring the hell out of this thread. Just for referenceI also contact Trent about this situation and the only reason way he posted here was because of Brant so, do yourself a favor and stop making yourself look like a complete jerk. You clearly have helped this situation out so much yourself, I should mail you a cookie or something.

You can move on now!

Keep it clean people. Or I'll just lock this thread, because I really don't have the time to baby sit.
Thank you!

Hey don't I count as a mod? Didn't I say all along this was a situation? Didn't I also say that a tracking number should have been provided right after Trip made his post stating he thought everything was ok?

- First, what Trent has done is in no way acceptable and he must fully resolve this issue ASAP...I say this as a friend of his

- Most moderators on this site are chosen by the sites owners/operators...they do not ask to moderate and are not elected, and thus should be held in the same respect as any member on this board

- posting any of Trent's personal info on a public board without his permission is completely and totally unacceptable. We have laws procedures for things like this, and tracking someone down for something that allegedly happened on the internet is not part of those. If trip has any further problems with Trent, I highly suggest he contact the appropriate authorities. Also, posting his info would give anyone who visits the board the exact location of Trent's vehicles and other property, which is not justified in any way/shape/form.

anyhow...that's my $.02 and really hope that this fiasco gets sorted out soon

I want to further go on record as saying I disagree with John and Brant on some points posted. I've met Dan(turbo pwr) and Brant. You guys know I have nothing against either of you personally. John(darkknight), I know you as someone more than willing to help others on the board.

Yes, Dan, I know you did not accept everything as fine. I used the phrase "several of you(admin type folks)." The very use of the word "admin" was incorrect and I apologize. That was not lost... I've read this whole thread. And yes, you help folks, too.

I dropped my CO title for a couple of reasons. One was because I found myself censoring myself to the point that I didn't feel like I was being honest. I knew that every time I posted that it reflected on the Mid-Atlantic community as whole. Brant, you may not respond, but I hope you do read this. You do have a choice of whether or not the title of Moderator is beneath your name. And because it is there, folks will watch what you do, even if they are the punks on the boards. Personally, I have never seen where you have been rash or disrespectful to another member or guest. Then again, I don't stalk your every post!

Also, I would hope that you think I am the kind of person that does care about others. I believe the majority of my community would vouch for that. I merely referenced a potential situation including myself solely for creating an example. But this and every other transaction, good or bad, affects us all. The effects of this sour deal may never manifest themselves into some hideous three-headed dragon, but there are always consequences.

John, I can understand where you're coming from on wanting to keep things peaceful. I'm glad that y'all are aware of what's going and are taking the time to post. Time is something that can never be repaid. However, I obviously believe that Portland's statements have some validity. The deal is sour and in a geniune attempt to help, Brant offered his best to expedite the situation. Publicly. My beef is not either of you. I just hope you understand that.

No one wants anyone kicked off, especially you, Brant. There is a long line ahead of you. I'm sure I'm somewhere in there. I have been interrupted several times and am not sure how well this will read. I typed it in "Fast Reply."

Trip, I hope that my ramblings are just that and that you indeed have some sort of resolve. I'm hungry(J'ai faim.)... going to get some chow.

To all - I am sorry my post is not as polished as Skip's but that's just the way i write

Dan and John - You guys are great and I hope you understand the gist of what I was trying to rely to Brant, Although in all honesty John, i was certainly confused with your earlier concerns about hiding the sellers identity until after you had a chance to contact the seller
