just kidding! To date I have lost a rear cap and a heatshield while shipping to canada! guess what? that is money out of my pocket because the product was either refunded or replaced! I would bet a dollar that the product was shipped as promised and is sitting on some border inspectors desk as a nice paper weight. You have every right to be upset, I know I would be - this is just unfortunate and hopefully it will all be cleared up.

 

I just talked to Jeff today about a purchase i made. I have nothing bad to say about HardTopGuy. He explained my order and what was going on, i was unaware that comptech had a delay for their products. He assured me i would have my CAI very soon and i trust him for his honesty. most companies will lie about products being "in the mail". HardTopGuy gets a good vote in my book. ill definately be ordering a comptech sc from them if they do the group buy again.

 

Rick also said that things are difficult to ship to Canada. I know that my dealings with Hard Top Guy have been top notch!

I think saying he stole from you is going to far.

 

It seems odd that with the tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars of transactions and a great reputation here that HTG would try to screw over a Canadian for a measly 400 bucks.

I'd blame shipping delays or customs first.

Disclaimer: I dropped $2800 for a hardtop from him and was quite happy with the resulting transaction.

 

hmmm... sounds weird honestly.. I've bought several things for my S's and had no issues with Jeff.

The only thing that happened reciently is that I left a message for his temporary guy/ contact b/c Jeff was out and never received a call back from my voicemail .

Jeff's an awesome guy, so maybe something that came up reciently that he's had to deal with.

For his brother, he's an ASS, on the board and on the phone

 

I will definately not flame anyone here... all-trick'd-out definately has some things that need to be worked out.

I absolutely nothing but good things to say about Jeff and his brother.

Some people bought have bought a couple of parts and have been entirely satisfied, I purchased an ENTIRE CAR from them. Never thought it would be so easy without actually stepping into a dealership, all I got was world class service and a car hand delivered by Jeff to my doorstep.

But, I understand all-trick'd-out's situation and I hope everything gets worked out, good luck.

 

S2000 GT im glad there are people like you . I understand the rest of you have had "wonderful" service from hardtopguy. I personally have never dealt with him so I can not comment on him. Besides this thread, ive only read great stuff about hardtopguy. I know you guys are just trying to make sure Jeff's reputation isnt "mared" but common give this guy a break. I mean put aside your feelings to protect Jeff for a second, and try to look at it through this guys perspective... I mean after all this is supposed to be a "community". Hardtopguy is obviously a great guy because you don't get comments like he goes "above and beyond" if your a jerk or anything so I know this guy isnt a "theif." It's just a missunderstanding that will get resolved if what you guys say about hardtopguy is true (which I believe is true). The only thing that is kinda sketchy here is why doesnt hardtopguy just contact him?... I mean i know he participates in this forum... so i dont see the reason in him ignoring this post, and the previous post. trickedout since everyone is saying it is very difficult to ship to canada and it takes a while, maybe a little more patience from you will calm things out. I understand its a kick in the a$$ to feel like someone may have gipped you, but you dont know that that is the case here.

Hey, everyone gets like this when they send out alot of money, and expect the products in a timely manner.....

Of course, this is out of the ordinary for Hardtopguy, because he noramlly goes out of his way to make his customers satisfied.


This guy is just venting because he is a little upset that it is taking so long. There is nothing wrong with that, so stop flaming him!

This post in no way will deter me from purchasing parts from Hardtopguy! This is just one of the costs of doing business: You can't always make everyone happy....

 

man this is hard to believe. i ordered from hardtopguy for my lip and sides and not a problem.

For my part - I've purchased from Jeff three times now, and will not hesitate to do so again. The first two were during Christmas time and under a time constraint because my car was inoperable, and he came through for me.

I've spoken to him over the phone several times with no issue. Sometimes it's taken him a few days to get to my email or voicemail, but that's understandable given the amount of business he does.

I have zero doubt that this is a miscomunication issue, and has nothing to do with Jeff trying to steal anything.
