Thanks for the info Woodwork.

Like Barry said above, I assume also that Honda won't replace it under TSB unless it breaks. I have a MY 00 and mine still works.

Woodwork,

When did this newest of the new part reach the warehouses? My dealership ordered the parts for this TSB some 3+ weeks ago (but I've been out of town) so I am wondering if they really have the most updated version. My appointment is next week so if they don't I still might have time to explain it to them so they can get a new one before my visit. What is the part number for this newest of the new part?

BTW, thanks for the info!

I just called my dealer and they claim that they have to take the top off to fix this problem and that it will take 2 days. Anyone know if this is reasonable??

Your dealer does NOT need to remove the top to replace a part in your driver's side door. Just the door panel. I would seriously look at another dealer if they are wanting to remove your convertible top for this repair. Do they also remove the engine before changing the oil?

I called my dealer and they have Service Bulletin 01-008, not 00-008. He said the tsb said it was last updated March 19, 2002.

That's all he could tell me, and said that's the last update.

EDIT:

I just called Honda Customer Service, and they have an updated bulletin labled APRIL 29th, 2003. The new part # is listed on this TSB and is: 72250-S2A-A03

That's all you need to make sure you are getting.

Wickerbill is correct. The dealer just has to remove the door panel, 3 or 4 screws, a few clips and a couple bolts and a wire harness. Not rocket science.

My mistake it is 01-008 last revision April 29, 2003. The dealer can go online and get the latest and greatest.

Bertsirkin: What dealer? I'll call them and straighten them out.

To answer others questions: Yes, the regulator must be showing the symptom to get it replaced (I have to answer that way), but sometimes it is intermittent, so...... if it is intermittent then tell the dealer that it is intermittent. If the dealer gives you any static about replacement, have the dealer call techline. If they tell you it is anything but the regulator ask them to call techline.

When you go to the dealer, tell them the bulletin number, the (electronic PDF) bulletin states that the new parts just came out. (the old parts were pulled from the warehouses) New part number: 72250-S2A-A03. Old part number is A02.

HTH,
Woodwork

Woodwork - are those bulletins available on-line where I can print it and bring it in to the dealer?
