You mean "useless".

It's all good, just making a point for ALL owners for all years.

That's how it works kki3o... After the 3 yr. new car warrantee expires, AHM is not obligated to fix defects for you.

Sometimes they make exceptions.

Lots of folks around here (not me) have bought extended warrantees precisely as an insurance policy as the car ages.

mopar,

Technically, I don't think AHM is obligated to honor that request if you're out of warrantee. I suppose some dealers will do it, though, for good customer relations. Certainly, it doesn't hurt to complain if you're in that situation...

The cost of providing warranty repairs for 36 months or 36,000 miles is built into the selling price of the car. If you want to buy an identical car that has a significantly more comprehensive warranty, you should expect to pay an increased price.

However, buying just the warranty you really need and paying any difference out of pocket is also a fair bargain.

If I were without warranty and had a perfectly good window motor assembly, I'd just be happy knowing that if my window motor did break, Honda had gone to the effort to build a better than original replacement part to sell me.

Just FYI,

You can still buy the extended warranty, even after your original warranty expires. You have to pay a fee surcharge, but it might be worth it.

I bought my extended warranty after my car was 2 years old. I had to pay $60 extra to get it at that time, but it was well worth it. It saved me $1000 when I had to get my clutch replaced (covered under the extended warranty).

Somewhere in thr group buys forum, a dealer in Wisconsin was selling them for pretty cheap. that's how I got mine.
