Default URGENT HELP NEEDED (blinking cel)

Hey guys while driving my car pretty hard today i missed shifted from 3rd to 2nd for a split second but pressed the clutch back in right away but after that the CEL started blinking and now the car vibrates at idle and kind of sounds like a v8, did i bend a rod? Also i had no choice but to drive it home, it drives fine but idles horrible, is there any way to find out besides taking it apart?

sorry to double post but i need answers immediately, i work in the morning and am probably going to have to drive to work.

DO NOT DRIVE THE CAR; DO NOT EVEN START THE ENGINE.
At this point every time the engine turns over there is a good chance that more damage is being done.

Have the car towed/trailered to a shop you trust. If you check your owners manual you will see that it says that you are supposed to shut the car off IMMEDIATELY if there is a flashing CEL, and that you are suppose to have it towed. You most likely have some costly engine damage.

Sorry to hear about this, and sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings.

Let's see... You've gotten advice to not drive the car; you apparently plan to ignore that advice. Hope it works out for you. You pay your money and take your chances...

At the time it was my only option... And im curious because im looking through the lists of blinking cel and some of them are things like fuel system too lean or too rich, i understand im not suppose to drive it, but how can i at least know what it is, im pretty sure it would be ok to drive a car thats 'too rich' or something else, looking at this btw http://www.modifry.com/freebies/old/dtc/index.htm

I had that problem a LONG time ago as well. I mis-shifted in the same gears as well, along with the cel coming on the next day and idling horribly. It turned out to be bent valves, which was about $3k getting it fixed at the dealership

Oy Vey!

If he has to get a new engine anyhow, why not drive it while it drives.

What kinda damage can he do to the new engine by driving the blinking CEL engine?

So this is the denial stage, every goes through it. yes you probably stretched a rod or bent some valves. Yes its going to cost lots of money. Sorry for your loss bro!
