I think yhe 2.2 is for US only. In Europe th AP2 is an 2.0 (revs to 9k), just like in Japan.

JDM BM video tested and reviewed the 2.0 vs 2.2 S2000's. Lap time comparisons were very close, nearly identical.

There was an earlier review in Hot Version comparing the '00 S2000 vs '04 S2000 (2.0 JDM) and there was a bigger difference between them mainly due to upgraded 17" wheels and old technology S02 vs newer design RE050 tires.

 

^^ actually it was not mainly due to that, because the AP1 still suffered lower lap times

 

AP1 vs AP2 we know that AP2 has the edge but we still need to find that BM vid of USDM AP2 Vs. JDM AP2, someone post that link!!!

 

still laughing at clawhammer's sig, king of new york clip with fast food guys super imposed, lol. 06 JDM' sdo get the 2.2 I think, but do they stop at 8,000? Youtube has a tone of BM's, I whatch them all the time

 

the 2.2 was introduced in japan this year. while the first ap2's in japan were the 2.0 the '06 is 2.2 the same as the us engine. with an 8k redline.
