^ tirerack is having an $80/tire closeout on the RE050 16" tires. That's a great price.

This video has an 01, vs an 06, vs a tuned AP2 I think. I dont know, they said the conering speeds are the big difference. The AP2 suspension setup is a little better than the AP1.. This video is pretty cool.

They don't come in the correct size for non-OEM rear tire. AP1 needs a 245 series for the rear...the OEM S02 225 series tire has the contact patch of a 245.

Does anyone know if Best Motoring or anybody else has tested a USDM AP2 S2000 (2.2L, 8,000 RPM) vs. JDM AP2 S2000 (2.0L, 9000 RPM) on the road course?

Any assumptions to who would be the winner?
they did it already

their AP2 is a 2.2L, not an 2.0L, and starts with the MY06.

you cna see it in youtube somewhere but it is all in japanese...

Here's some more fuel to the fire

Yes, us USDM folks use the term AP1 and AP2 to differentiate the two models....

HOWEVER

If my memory serves me correctly, the newer "AP2" models in Japan and europe with the F20C were still called AP1.

If you do a seach here on s2ki for VIN number discussions, you'll find that owners in europe and Japan with F20's in the updated body/chassis had the AP1 designation in the VIN. Only the American F22 cars carried the AP2 designation.

I know its just a technicality, but we should be striving for accuracy here.

Japanese MY06 has the AP2 designation, since they got the 2.2L
