Default V1 and POP Radar

Looks like the V1 detector now supports POP radar.

To hard to tell when I've been hit with POP. Most of the time it's a constant wave but there have numerous times here in Coronado, CA that I've picked up short burst of what appeared to be POP.

The manual states to heed those burst cause the next one could be on you.

I had V1 with version1.8 software - shipped out for POP upgrade - took one week to have unit back in car -

can't report yet on getting hit by POP but as I've seen on several sites NY,NJ are beefing up their POP sytems - I feel better having latest portection.

The week without my V1 was like driving naked. Much more cautious.

Has anyone used the known faults in radar/laser/sonar to fight a ticket? Do the judges give you the time of day on this?

Never been to court on a ticket cause I HAVE a DETECTOR!!......

If your hit with laser....forget it.....your cookies. Pinpoint accuracy.

I remember getting pulled over by a cop who shot the guy in front of me with KA and then directed him to pull over. As I drove by slowly he directly ME to pull over... I was like WTF?

When he approached me he said he clocked me on Radar going 35 in a 25 mph zone. I told him he clocked the guy in front of me and that there is NO WAY he could clock both of us and he could not prove MY speed.

He let me go........

Anyone know if the V1 gives some specific indication when you're hit with POP? A different sound, or different readout on the display?

I have the upgrade, but don't think I've been hit yet.

I have an Escort, not the x50, and I've had about 3 occasions when my laser warning will go off. Once I was caught though with laser and no detection by the escort. If Valentine has in fact come out with a good warning for POP, I will get one ASAP.

Escort X50 has..... "The Passport 8500 X50's new "V-Tuned" radar receiver provides extreme detection range on all police radar; conventional and "instant-on" radar, including the new POP mode radar threat, X-Band, and up to 50% more range than the original Passport 8500 on the all-important K and Ka bands. Digital Signal Processing (DSP) provides maximum range, with minimum false alarms.
Passport 8500 X50's multiple high-performance laser sensors provide maximum police laser (lidar) warning, with superior off-axis protection."

I have a old 4600 and it had 1 lazer sensor... I got poped for Lazer and it did not go off

After going to court a couple time.... speaking cops... and reading up...
it is best if you mount it low in windshield

Police aim for the front plate of the car and if you dector in 2 feet higher at the top of windshield that COULD make a differance if it goes off or not...
