Where did you get yours tuned? I'm from the Seattle area as well and I was just curious where you went. I have an '00 and will probably end up getting one of these in the spring.

 

Wait for the new AEM thing to come out, I think sometime in mid Jan to early Feb. It will be just like the EMS but a little cheaper

 

Vafc2 was about $400 (unit and frog) and dyno from Churches on Dynopack $125

Emgt from what Ive read is about $1500 and lots of dyno time> (400) = AEMEMS

so I'm only a lil better than stock with smoother Vtec on at 5500 . If I won the loto
SC, AEM EMS, head work, larger fuel injectors and exhaust.
I didn't so I can't, so I'll be happy with what I can afford

 

it was tuned down in vancouver, by a SVT Ford tuning shop called FAST specailties. travis, the lead tech there, is amazing. he really knows his stuff too.

 

yo vesionjdm..i got a 05 s2k..mods-injen cai..vafc II..and skunk2 catback & invidia testpipe on the way..so u think if i go get it tuned be a big differences?

 

AP2's dont see the gains from vafc because the AP2 ecus are tuned much better than the AP1's. i would recomend picking up a Greddy Emanage and get it tuned. you can do some timing adjustments along with vtec(which can be set lower on ap2's).

 

Saying you have i/e doesn't really mean anything. For all we know, you could have an AEM cold air intake and Comptech exhaust (you're lucky to make 5hp more than stock with these parts), which is why you only gained 10 hp with tuning. With power making parts, you are goingto benefit a LOT more with tuning.

Plus, the AP2 isn't going to make nearly as much as the AP1 with a VAFC alone.
