Valentine 1 wired up this weekend..
I finally caved and got my v1. Hopefully no more tickets. I took a couple pics on the digicam of the install, I'll try to post them shortly, but basically here's what I did.
Used the sunvisor clip and ran telephone wire through the map lights down the right side and a-pillar, down under the side step trim and behind the passenger seat. It's connected to the power connector which I manually had to splice in. My multimeter showed 0 current when I just touched the red wire and a chassis ground. I don't know enough about electronics to know why (anyone?). So I spliced in the power wires into the adapter wire (which runs behind the passenger seat instead of under the center console, like I would have thought.. very sneaky).
I placed the concealed display in the coin cup behind the cup holder.. it's a perfect fit. I love it when stuff like that works out. I drilled a hole underneath the cup to run the phone wire through, and I attached it to the cup using a little piece of stick on velcro-type fastener.
No cords hanging out anywhere, except for a 3 inch piece of cord where the unit on the visor plugs in, running from the unit to the map lights. It's a pretty clean install I think, and it works great. Picked up 5 radars at once while bumming around downtown. I think I'll ride around mostly with it off though in cities, even with the sensitivity all the way down it picks up a lot of strays. I bet it's going to be great on the highway though.
Highly recommended product.
Pictures to come soon.
