I just wondering why you guys wanna buy a nice looking brace? I mean, it is gonna be under the seat ( actually on the chasis... ) you will never see it after you install it.. So, if the price is about 200 + , I'd prefer to buy one from Mingster for 180 shipped.. Well, I did not say Mingster's brace is ugly.... cuz I never seen one in person or seen one from web site... but... I figure it is better price for the same thing you need!!

Krazik
Mine is solid, and acording to mathmatic model sress and fatigue testing this was the best way to go (modeling done by Utah S2K)
As far as demonderrick's concern, he is correct, the only way you see this is to have either a different intake so you can see past where the airbox went or to look under your car. I wanted something that was solid, no welds (strength), no gussets (so I could change the oil with minimal mess, and without brace removal) as well as being as light or ligter and stronger than the others available. I believe that I have achieved that. The fact that it looks awesome is just an added bonus!! From what I understand Mingsters bar is great, but it is not in the same market. He went for something like the Spoon that could be had for less than the Spoon, whereas I went for something totally different. This bar is not for everyone, it is for the person who wants the best of everything, which is why I designd it for the owner of the S2K (we all want the best....that is why we bought this car right? )
keep the posts comming!!!

I'm very interested in this brace. I will definitely purchase a brace from someone. My main concern is: how much more difficult will an oil change be?

I'd like to get it powdercoated red

I can't wait til you start making this. It looks like it will be stronger than the other braces on the market today.

I'd Be interested. I haven't done any suspension mods yet and have been trying to decide on X-brace v. Front Sway Bar.

Indeed it's a great looking piece. It's just looks so good that I want one even though it's invisible from top.

But my problem is I don't know what Brace does.
It's somthing about handling isn't it?
Could someone explain it in simple term? thanks.

cheers,

If you can immagine removing your engine there would be a huge hole beteween the shock towers where it was. This hole is a giant void in the chasis itself with no bracing on it or through it. In addition to this void there is also one where the drive shaft goes through to the back. The void allows for flex in the chasis most noticed when steering. When you put the engine in this hole it fills the void, but does not add to the rigidity of the chasis. Problem is that you can not put braces through the engine. So we put them arround them in attempt to keep the suspension together so it acts as one peice. This can be done with the strut tower braces, and on a greater scale with the X braces (like mine, Mingsters or Spoon). The reason the x is more effective is because it joins the bottoms of the two suspension arm mounting points together, thus connecting the two sides of the car chasis as well as stiffening the void. I think that this is the correct explanation, but I am sure that someone else will post too.
What this all means is that when you turn or go over rough pavement, the brace keeps the shock towers and suspension peices from moving away from each other, making the car handle better, and making steering more precise.
Hope I stated this correctly

Sorry no word as to pricing yet, but it will be posted as soon as I can figure one out, based on the desire for people to have one (IE how many people want one dictates the price)
My engine is torn appart, everything from the intake back is gone except for the block, as I am experamenting with head work on the F20c which I will also keep people posted of.(explains the appearent oil leak from the pictures)
