Default Vortech supercharger ???

Hey Guys !

Do I have to purchase a clutch kit and header with the Vortech SC ? I already have an HKS cat-back.

I also read there's 2 Vortech SC for the S2K (old one and new one)????

Thanks a lot for your help !

Bye DOHC

An aftermarket clutch is recommended. Some people with superchargers have detected slippage above 7500RPM. However, I have heard from a few people that the stock clutch is fine, unless you plan to drag race. Eventually, I think you'll end up changing the clutch anyway.

I'm in Calgary and have the Vortech "polished" and 4.44 gears.
The clutch will need changing anyway eventually even if you don't go with S/C so if you are going to drive the car hard, you may as well do it before the S/C as it will be a bit easier. After the S/C, your mechanic may insist on removing the S/C before doing the clutch job.
I'm still running the stock clutch and so far (about 1500 km), no problem but I don't drag race everyone I come across.

Hey Xviper,

How's the 4.44 ? How about 4.77 ? Too radical ? How much did u pay for 4.44 ? Last question, what brand of clutch is good for SC and for how much ?

Thanks a lot !

It seems as though most people go with the 4.44 just because its a nice compromise and you don't find yourself reaching for 7th gear on the freeway.

Here you go a little more info
