No worries, the engines are VTEC'd before even leaving the Honda factory.

At one local Austin, Texas dealership, I was waiting for the oil change, and I saw some guy drive my car out. Who knows what he did with it.
Please tell me you beat the sh!t out of this person.

my car came with 75 miles, no oil use at 22,000, in fact never been back to dealer for warranty work. life is full of chance...i broke car in with no rpm over 5500 for first 600 miles and then i forgot about the break in...take good care of your machinery and it will last unless it is defective or has been trashed before you got it.

Yeah, that's what I'm saying...

Honda doesn't put these together without running them through their paces before selling. Better to discover a problem before delivery rather than after.

1. lose your warrenty. the ecu will detect any VTEC"ing before 600 miles. bummer you can't reset the little black box ECU

2. shortens the life of the engine by about 82%

i was told by the dealer that these cars come "pre broken in" even tho the manual says to take it easy for the first 800 or something like that. in any case, i vtec'd once or twice before 600 and i've been fine...i mean, i had to make sure it was working ya know? don't sweat it.
