Fifth, the "three bars" comment above refers to the temprature gauge.

I thought the temp guage measured coolant temp and not oil temp. We have to worry about oil pressure for VTEC to work properly. I think Motor oil is a non-newtonian fluid, which means it does not follow (obey) Newton's laws of viscosity. The viscosity, or resistance to flow, does not change very much in relation to temperature. It does change, but is designed to have minimum amount of change due to temperature.
Since the oil drains to the bottom of the crankcase, the big concern is getting that oil circulating again.

This is just what I think and I am subject to criticism.

Can't help jumping in with my 2 cents - just reached the 600 mile mark and VTEC'd -
Did I mention WWWWWWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HHHHHHHHHHHH
what a rush!

And yes - do it on a straight stretch of road and watch the tach - you can hit the rev limiter pretty fast in 1st and 2nd. But , oh what a rush!
