Warantee Problem
Sorry I posted this in Introductions by mistake
Having trouble with my Honda dealer, wondering if anyone here has experienced this SAME problem. I have a 2005 with 22K miles. This summer on hot days with air running I started to get two intermitant problems. When decelerating or sitting in traffic the car starts a low level howling that decreases in pitch. Probably the belts or compressor. Problem #2 is a loud chirp sound kind of like a bird would do if you stepped on him. This can occur when decel or accel or stopped, at any time and there is no action I can take to cause it when I want to cause it.
If been to dealer twice. Two different service techs have ridden in car and heard problem. They say they don't know what it is. I say BELTS or COMPRESSOR or FAN. They can't seem to figure it out. One guy replaced a wheel bearing.
Today the Service director called and told me there would be no repair unless I pay. They don't know what is wrong, the air blows cold so it does work, so no repair. I said unless I missed something in the owners manual the chirping and howling are not designed into the car, therefore it is not working. They claim if they replace the compressor they have to send the old unit to Honda. If Honda says there is nothing wrong then Honda won't pay. Dealer won't risk anything they just say "Car works fine"
Anybody else have this and know for certain what the cause is ?
