I picked up 2 filters from my dealership marked 15400-PT7-005. Are those the wrong filters?

I believe that those are the Canadian filters that were made before this whole thing with new oil filters even started. They should be the same size as the new S2000 oil filter and should work just fine. You might want to use them on the Odyssey and get the new Japanese manufactured oil filter for the S2000.

I didn't have the part number when I went to ask about the filter. I tried telling the parts guy about it and he was like . I "store" my car for the winter, taking it out a few times a month, so I 'm not too worried about having the smaller filter on. When I'm due for my oil change in April/May, I wll be purchasing the bigger filter for sure.

www.handa-accessories.com has the "new" filter for $6.19, while www.hardtopguy.com has them for $5.69. I haven't contacted Jeff to see if the filter he has listed is the "new" one for our cars, but I would guess that it is.

Just one final comment: my local dealer just did my oil change, and knew enough to use the new PCX filter (w/out me saying anything beforehand). So not all the dealerships out there have their heads up their @$$es...

I agree, not all of them do and the ones that don't screw up, you usually won't hear about. Good to hear yours is on the ball.

actually, updating...

i went and had my oil changed last week -- i asked about using the new filter and was answered by the tech walking out of the parts area holding it...

they were on top of it before i even mentioned it...

I should be taking my 2004 for its first oil change sometime in January. Thanks for the heads-up!
