Waving at one another in S2Ks...
I think it's great that our little community is so supportive of one another, and the headlight flashing and waving is done on this car more than any other I've witnessed.
I wanted to share my experiences with other people waving back at me, since I wave or flash any other S2000 I see on the road.
Young people definitely wave back.
Older guys with street clothes that look like they're on their Sunday drive definitely wave back.
Girls in street clothes wave back.
AP1 owners seem to wave back moreso than AP2 owners, though.
Generally the AP2s that I see are driven by your standard corporate type. The type of person that wouldn't post on s2ki.com or go to a local club meeting and would drive a Boxster just as soon as the S. The late 30s guys in suits driving silver AP2s seem to just have the car for show or something, and do not participate in the friendly
. More business oriented women seem to do this also.
Has anyone else ever noticed this?
(I can't wait for all of the "hey big guy, I am 3X years old and drive a MY05 silverstone and I wave all the time to other S's!") I know there are exceptions, this is just over a larger sample.

oh man, i totally agree. i go to school in san jose, and campus is near a few business parks. so whenever i see any s2k's, its usually a silverstone AP2 with a corporate type driving. for as long as i can remember, only AP1 drivers which are rare around here, wave back at me.
Hey I always wave. I'm an older female in an AP2. Sometimes people in other convertibles wave to me and I wave back. Once my daughter and I were out driving and we spotted an intrigueing car. It was late dusk, so we were not sure what it was, and we followed it to a gated community. It was another silverstone driven by a couple of young men. They seemed scared at first when we pulled up beside them, but then they saw the car and my cute daughter and were real friendly.
I get disappointed if other S drivers don't wave back, but then I figure they just didn't see me. Especially true if they are corperate types. They are just probably thinking so hard about business that they don't even notice the world around them.
