I used to wave a lot in my subaru (to other subarus), but always got flak for waving by my passengers.
So, i rarely wave these days unless waved upon first.

you guys are missing the point on the AP1 vs. AP2 thing!......It's something MORE OBVIOUS than that!

It's the ones who drive (any year) with their top UP anytime of day above 60 degrees F. and it's clear outside.....they NEVER wave!!!

I've never encountered anyone with the top down who won't wave back.

Ask Sheadlee on this. Him and I waited for a meet for a while last month and saw either 3 or 4 pass by in 75 degree weather perfect outside and acted like they didn't even see the S2000's parked on the road nor gave a wave. One guy even drove by 3 times in his Suzuka AP2.....nothing.

 

Every s2k I've seen around here has given a wave, including the young, the older, ap1, and ap2. If you're not getting any waves, just come by and I'll be sure to solve that problem!

 

I wave unless I am going 80mph on the highway the opposite way, then I flash, I am a corporate type, beware!

 

Sorry, I don't have the same experience. Most S2k waved/blinked head lights at me and I waved/blinked head lights back, and vice versa; unless we were busy driving.

ap2 owner here...i wave, throw a peace sign, or a nod whenever i see one. i've noticed the 'punk' ap1 drivers are the ones who dont' acknowledge it though. they're too busy trying to look tough

 

Hey! I'm from Fairfax, Virginia and just recently got a nice 2002 s2000 black/black. I gotta tell you guys, I started getting the wave from the moment I got the car. I have only seen 3 S2000s on the road so far, but they ALL gave me the wave. Previously I had taken part in what I called "the Jeep wave" for Wrangler owners back when I was a kid. I'm excited to see that the S2000 has the same type of community and enthusiasm!

 

I always beep and wave at every S2 I see...I look at it likee seeing one of my family members out in a public place and not saying hi...Thats just plain rude....I even conversate with fellow owners...


PS....SPA`s And Rio get the most looks and compliments though hands down though I will say that.....No one can argue that....I know ite because they are Yellow but when I am parked next to my buddies Berlina people think they are too different cars....I remember someone said to me what kind of car is that. I said its a Yellow S2000...Then he said no what car is sitting next to it...I said on that a black s2000 he said no way they look so much different....
