Waving at one another in S2Ks...
i will finally be getting tags for my S tomorrow....
and this "waving" thread got me thinking....
is there a technique on how to wave to other S owners?
is it side to side with the wrist, or move your elbows too
or is it the "still hand" wave

Sorry. Too busy too wave. Left hand on the wheel and right hand down shifting to pass the 20 someting blonde on the cell phone oblivious to the world around her. See you at the truck stop.
My guess is that members and guests of s2ki.com are more likely to wave back than those who have never heard of, nor care about, s2ki.com.
So it's really not an AP1 vs. AP2 thing...it's an enthusiast-who-is-computer-literate-and-has-time-to-spend-researching-and-learning-about-his-or-her-love vs. those-who-don't-really-care-or-have-the-time-to-do-so thing.

This isn't an AP1 vs. AP2 thread! You guys are totally missing the point. What we're trying to say here is, that if some dude just wants to look cool in a sports car and wants to get an S2000, what's he going to buy? He's going to go buy a new s2000, which happens to be the AP2 now. It's this type of person that does not get involved in the community. He doesn't care about who's driving the car and whatnot, he just wants to tool around and look cool. I think the people who bought the car years ago for this reason probably have sold it by now.
Of course most of the people on this forum all probably wave... we're all enthusiasts. If we weren't we wouldn't be "wasting" our time on this forum talking about a car we wouldn't care about.
What I posted in my original thread was mostly about certain types of people that generally wave/do not wave. Again, there are exceptions to everything. However, if you take 100 stereotypical "young rascals" with modded AP1s, they are probably going to have a higher waving percentage than if you have 100 "business gentlemen" with their newer cars.
And to who posted about how to wave... any way you like! I usually flash my lights if they're further away, or just give a thumbs up or friendly waving gesture. If I'm in the middle of shifting or busy with something I'll just flash my brights real quick.

I always wave and I almost always get a wave back here in Seattle. I have noticed, though, that a few Ap1's do consistently do not wave back. I'm not sure if they dont know about the wave or think Ap1's are better than Ap2's. i dont let it get to me though.
