S2000 is being considered a light car. But my 2003 4 door Accord LX with its 2.4L engine weighs about the same. Considering the size of the two cars, I would imagine the S would have weighed a lot less. Does the weight on the S due to its real wheel drive platform and stiffer structure?

It's heavy because of the extra reinforcing required to make a convertible stiffness on par with a coupe. That's why I wish Honda made a coupe version as well. Better looks, less weight, stiffer, better aero and maybe slightly cheaper?

with me in it probably 3000lbs...

i wish the S was a little lighter, 2700lbs would've been perfect for the car...

Funny, mine does weigh 2700 lb., and I think it's overweight by at least 150 lb.!

I have to suspect the scales are in error regarding the original post. That would put his '06 at under 2600 lb. without the hardtop. No way (not stock, anyway...).

Didn't Porsche do this with the Boxster. Except the Cayman is more expensive.
