I know that the EVO was designed with some function in mind, but be serious. Mitsu did rice it a bit in response to the growing rice market.
C'mon now, Evo's have been styled that way before you knew the term "rice".

i mean no offense to the cars or owners, i own one myself. but the wrx, sti, evo are all (thuroughly) warmed over econoboxes. the s2000 is a true sports car from the ground up. what it lacks in power and torque, it makes up for with quicker reflexes, lighter weight, and of course, the ability to cruise topless.
I have to agree for the most part.

S2000 = purpose built sports car
Sti or Evo = Econobox + performance parts

Although they do offer a lot of bang for the buck, I still prefer my S2000.

The S2000 is the finest example of a 2-liter, mass production roadster ever. Period. Contest over. It's not a dragster, not a boulevard cruiser, it's a sports car. The Evo might be fast - in fact I know it is - but the damn things are butt ugly, silly-looking even. Still, if racing from traffic light to traffic light in 1/16-mile zero-talent-required speed contests is a turnon for their owners, then they've made a good investment. And don't doubt for a second that there are plenty of former S2000 owners who are happy in their Evo or WRX or whatever - they never really got what their Honda was about in the first place.

Mitsu should of revised the GT3000 and placed the Evo engine inside it, this way they would have one hell of a sports car and not an sporty sedan. Just my .02

Wow. I must be real confused then. I can't believe what I am reading by all of these so called enthusiasts.

Some of you need to wake up, it is YOU who are missing out.

Jesus.. the ignorance doesnt stop! S2

The platform of the evo is an econobox for a reason. FIA rally regulations on # of production cars needed to be made etc.. stop missimforming and making other people dumb just to hate on other cars PLEASE.

2. The S2000 does not handle better.
3. The s2000 is not more fun to drive. 13:1 2.1 turn lock to lock steering plus 12+ years of rally racing put into the suspension owns you.
4. The s2000 is not faster in a race track.
2. how do you figure? magazine test numbers? real world experience? having driven both myself, i have to disagree.

3. "fun to drive" is opinion, everyone has thier own.

4. depends on the track and driver.

the evo is an awesome high performance sedan. the s2000 is an awesome sports car.
