went to the evo boards and
Sure, we're acting a bit childish....but they started it!!
Honestly though, I don't remember too many times (haven't been here long though) where a forum just started saying that the Eclipse or Evo or STI sucks in comparison to our cars. However, you always see someone post something saying they found a post in another forum that bashes the S2000 specifically. I think it's the other clubs that are envious for some reason. They always have some point to prove. Sure we have our Asses too, but I think the other clubs attack us much more. One reason might be that the S2000 club has some of the most meticulous people that treat their car like it's worth millions and other people don't get that. I was like that too, and all of a sudden when I got my car I found myself parking miles away, not wanting to drive it too much, scared to go on dates with it b/c the date might say something when I park god knows where and make her walk two blocks just to eat dinner and wash it with towels from the dryer every time and never reuse the wax pad. All that stuff just doesn't happen in other clubs like the EVO like it does here.
I think in the end, it's not a car, it a state of mind man

Air dry those microfiber towels!!! What?! You don't use microfiber?! Oh, the horror! :fallstothefloor:
Wow...reading thru all these posts just seems pointless to me.
I've never really cared much for the EVO...it's not my style of car. It is not two seats; it does not have leather interior, there is no digital display, there is no engine start button, there is no drop top, and there isn't a significant styling.
I bought the S2000 for many reasons but mostly for little reasons...I knew it was gonna handle well and had good acceleration but it's the little added bonuses that make the car special.
I just don't feel the EVO has anything really significant that sets it apart from other cars.

??? the 3000GT was more powerful, why would they put a 4 cylinder engine in there

Bottom line is this....It's one ugly car. I doesn't resemble anything even remotely that looks like a sports car. I suppose it may be fun to drive but how much MORE fun is rolling the top down on the "S" and a nice warm day and crusin.............and getting all those looks from envious persons... YOU surely don't turn heads in a car of it's design.
I don't care if it runs 200mph and goes 0-60 in three seconds flat... It's one ugly car....with no class at all... Just my opinion.... Love my "S"... cya guys and gals..cj

I used to own an EVO before owning my S2000. In fact, i traded my '03 EVO for an '02 S2K because my EVO was giving me such a headache in stock form (technical problems and denial for warranty claims even though my car was stock). Aside from all the problems that the EVO was giving me, the car was really a great car.
The two cars are completely different and serve such different purposes that you can't compare the two. I'm not gonna say one car is better than the other, but i can say that i'm much happier with the S2000.

I am in the same boat, currently waiting for my lemon law buyback settlement. Then it's S2k land for me.
You guys shouldn't even bother starting threads like these, they're a waste of bandwidth for all.
Around a track the Evo will probably be a tick faster (equal skilled drivers) but the driver of the S2000 will have a bigger grin when he gets out. Not to mention that driver will get to wear that smile for thousands and thousands of miles longer than the boosted mitsu motor.
When I saved up enough $$ to buy a nice car, the biggest factor characteristic that would put me in a car was fun factor, the S2000 was an easy choice. Afterall, I don't really car if my track times were at the top of the list at the end of the day, If I didn't have as much fun as possible, what was the point of showing up? I drive my S2000 daily, and in the 9.5 months I've owned my car, I've put 20,000 miles on the ODO. And with the S2000 I know the way I drive it I can enjoy the car for atleast another 5 years, that can't be said for the EVO, as all these warranty battles have made apparent. All I can say to these Evo owners is, Enjoy your car while it lasts, then I'll have the pleasure of meeting you in person at Fall Colors when you buy an S2000 because you need a more reliable fun car.

if you want to build a drag car, there is no question which one is better. hell turbotrix has an evo that is running 9's and is still street driven. will an s2000 ever see 9's? i very highly doubt it. sure they may only make 270hp at 18lbs (btw, it bleeds off boost as it closes in on the redline. the factory ecu doesn't run 18lbs the whole time) but i've seen a couple of shops put 500 hp to the wheels on the stock engine internals. you will NEVER see that on an S2000. but then again this car was never designed to make as much power as the evo was.
you seriously need to do some research before you post about something you obviously have not looked into deep enough.
