I would say mice as well. How long was the last length of time it sat idle?? We just found an entire nest inside an outboard motor in our shed. They will chew through anything those little guys.

I bought the car in the winter, so I'd let it idle for a few minutes before going anywhere. During the winter the mice probably had two to three weeks to investigate the car while it sat.

There is no bad way to kill mice. I've hated them ever since they invaded my house when a construction company tore up the farmers field behind me. I was killing two to three a day at it's peak. Every time I hear the snap of a mouse trap I break a smile.

DJ Qube- I'll send a couple to you if you would like to do the honors...

Maybe my car is tagged now my the mouse underground. I probably have several mice eyeing my car, waiting until it is put away for the winter... With the cover of night they're going to execute a covert op, break into the intake box and pay day. My luck, I probably pissed off the wrong mouse. For all I know, there might be a bounty on my head for removing the pet food.

Definitely mice. My Grandmother took her car to a mechanic one time, and when he checked her air filter he found a ton of dog food in the air box (she kept her dog's food in the garage). Mice can ruin a car in a hurry if they inside of one while it is stored for the winter. They chew on everything and sometime die in the HVAC ducts. Nasty.

ROFLOL- Yeah, there's these mice trained by the CIA and they wear sunglasses. They've got little mouse surveillance cameras all over the car. They know where you are always. They've sharpened the bottom edge of the garage door and rigged it to drop on you when the car is halfway out of the garage.

That is strange, but it probably is mice. Make sure they haven't chewed anything else up on the car.
