I'd also like to know a well known adequate adhesive that would fill very small pin holes nicely and flex with top being operational.

I patched material behind the tear, gluing it in with fabric glue and then filling the tear with RTV gasket material.
Permatex is a common brand. LINK

It's not silicone, but I used Stabond to glue in a patch, as recommended by cosmomiller in this thread:

https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/108...#entry23176482

It's been fantastic; absolutely no delamination. Previously, I'd tried E6000, but the patch fell off.

When I bought the car, it had two patches, installed "professionally" according to the PO, and both are peeling up a bit at the edges. Stabond is the only thing I'll go with from now on.

I had a few small holes coming through from the normal above shoulder wear, I used stormseal to plug up the holes up and then stuck a patch of tear-aid on the inside to protect and strengthen, holding up pretty well

Same method I use. Only have two patches on the car and they hold up well for long periods of time. I redo it every few years - has saved me from buying a new top so far!

I stitch the tear with heavy duty outdoor thread and then cover it inside and out with RTV Black.
