RedY2KS2k got it. It's the upper bolt that mount the transmission to the engine, and it's damned near impossible to access. It's all flying blind.

The bolt has to be removed (along with others that are readily accessible) so the transmission can be detached from the engine when the clutch is replaced or work needs to be done on the tranny. James and Chris spent two hours locating and removing the bolt when they did Jame's clutch replacment. On my car they lowered the time to about 20-30 minutes.

The successful completion of this task (twice now) was due in no small part to the help and advice offered by cdelena He even exchanged PMs with me a few months ago when we were looking for this upper starter bolt on my car!

Thanks again C!!!!

James

ps. Everyone performing this ritual might be interested to learn that one does not need to completely remove the driveshaft! Just disconnect the front of the driveshaft from the rear of the tranny and lift this end out of the way. There is no damage to the rear of the driveshaft as it is designed to swivel in this manner, and Rick has driven over 400 miles now after our install. This could have saved us several hours over the two installs we have done to date! Hopefully this will help anyone else who may be contemplating a clutch change. J-
