Diamond cut faces? Is that their OEM finish, or just a finish type you like and were able to choose with this process?
That is the oem machined finish on the unpainted portions. They use what I assume is a diamond bit to recut the surface. Gets rid of any curb rash and nicks. One wheel had a minor rash from the previous owner.
Im really happy with how they turned out. Now they have a nicer finish than the car... hmm lol

They offer powdercoating. But I believe this is paint in the oem paint code. Then clear coat everything.

I was interested in what wrapping your headers would do to engine bay temps, so I pulled my header to begin the process. I would've opted to leave out the painting, but I've read the wrap might cause premature failure of the header through corrosion. There are mixed opinions on this. The paint may or may not work, but if it doesn't, at least I have an excuse to buy a fancy
stainless one.

Header off.

I think the donut can be re-used.

Tabs for middle and bottom heat shields ground off. I'm gonna keep the top heat shield. Combined with the heat wrap I'm going to install, I think it'll keep the engine bay a little cooler.

For anyone trying this themselves, don't grind the bottom mounting tabs flush. If you look closely, you can see a line going alone the collector. I don't think there's holes, but we'll see.

I wanted to remove the collector tab, but I figure it's there for extra support. If removed, the only points of support between the header and the resonator are the header fasteners and the rubber support for the resonator. I noticed a lot of aftermarket headers omit the tab. Maybe because they're lighter?

Taped up.

Collector tab seems to be placed right at the header's COG, so it's perfect for painting.

VHT Flameproof primer. 3 coats.

VHT Flameproof paint. 3 coats.

Next step is to wrap the thing in DEI Titanium wrap.

Got my header wrap material in today. DEI titanium wrap and some stainless steel zip ties.

I measured the length of the 2nd wrap wrong, but nothing a tie won't fix.

The uncured VHT flameproof paint has a texture to it which is makes the wrap stick very well.

Onto the collectors tomorrow.
