Am I the only person who thinks it is silly to own a $30k car and have to worry about where the money for the next tank of gas is going to come from? If owning a particular car is a hardship then you shouldn't be owning that car. I've worked for everything I've gotten but I am not willing to let a car be so important in my life that financial stability is going to be a problem.

I've been on this website since the beginning (back to the good ol' H-A days), and it has brought me a lot of things :

- first I learned a lot about my car, which was useful because French Honda dealers have no clue about S2000s, since there are so few of them...
- It's also been a fantastic sociological and anthropological experience, I've been able to observe and listen to groups of people I would never have met otherwise.
Now I know that Australians are open-minded, mellow and quite aware of world affairs, that Europeans aren't much into websites (the European branch of the site has been dead for weeks!), that the British are very much into practical jokes and useless banter, that this car is very popular amongst the Korean community in the US, and that the Americans.... well actually I've learned that you can't summarize the Americans, that you'll find the dumbest idiots and the nicest guys over there...
- I've found a lot of funny links and info on other cars (recently that incredible clip of a backward-going fiat in Poland!!)
- I've wasted too much time!!

Nobody was refering to you. I was aiming that at the person who chastising Turbo power for plugging the benefits of becomming a member. Read it a little more closely next time. Join, don't join it is up to you but don't you dare try to make the guys and gals who run this site feel bad about trying to drum up membership.

THAT IS RUDE.

Bieg,
It's curious that you make a big deal about people "commandeering" your threads and taking them off topic yet you feel completely justified in doing it to someone else's. Why can't we have a thread simply dedicated to why people love this site and what they get out of it, that doesn't involve any of the issues that create conflict? Please leave this thread alone.

I will not get into a debate about this, but IMO what you wrote does not help you any in what I stated. If something is a burden, then it's time to sit down and readjust. A car like the S2000 is a luxury item not a necessity. I am sorry that you lost your job, but in this economy and job market it is unfortunately a common site. I work in the IT industry so it's something I have to worry about everyday. But at the same time, if I lost my job and I had to worry about gas for the s2000, it would be the first thing out the door.

A great source of information....if you get it from a reliable source. Some people on this site I think dont really have an S....but they do know lot about it.

But for me I would feel better getting advice from someone who has the S rather than someone who doesnt. UNLESS he/she is a Honda Certified Tech....LOL
