What does it take for an s2k to run 12's or low 13's? What does an s2k run stock?

I dont know much about the s2k but im looking into a new car to buy for this summer. I own a del sol and thats why the s2k is appealing to me. I really like its looks and they can be had for a good price. I just want to know how they are performance wise and reliablility. What kind of whp and 1/4 times can you run on a stock s2k w/bolt ons, i/h/e. I like the high redline, my del sol's redline is also 9 grand

Im debating between a s2k and a supra mkiv. S2k in my opinion looks better and is a small 2 seater car which is what i love, and is cheaper in price. However a supra can make around 425whp with just basic bpu's and the sound of a sppoling turbo still makes me smirk. But the supra price is more expensive, more mileage, and probably higher insurance as well as less mpg. My new car will be a daily driver, and im looking to have around 20k to spend. If i got a supra it would probably cost all 20k but i could probably find an s2k for around 16-17k and have some $ left over for extra's

thanks for the info guys

You are asking for opinions on what kinds of products will serve a particular function, not about how to install them. This is better in S2000 Talk. Moving now.

ps. You should complete your title so that it is more descriptive and thus, target the right audience.

If you want to drag it or get crazy horsepower, then stick with the Supra. The S is made more for handling and taking turns. It's a top contender if you're zooming through the mountains, plus it's a convertible. However, you'll be hard pressed to see anything over 230whp without a supercharger or turbo. Even then, it's hard to do much more than 300whp because of the already high compression (11:1). SC is they only bolt on for now (hurry up Elda) and turbo's require reworking the top end to lower compression. I've seen some run at 500whp, but definitely not reliably for a daily driver.

Base dyno for pre 04 is about 190-200whp and 04+is 210-215whp (although both are about the same speed because of gearing and reduced redline in 04+). Not sure about the quarter times.

Correct it is 1320ft. In fact here in Tampa we have the 1320 club!.. .. To run 12's you need about 350 at the wheels.. My 2 cents.. Now I want change please!

I think you missed the point possibly. In 12's or low 13's the S will only have covered about 1120 feet. I'm guessing that is what Revhi meant.
