and I want to keep the S's mileage down to limit the stone chips, cracks etc from the motorway - I need a new DD to keep the S special for weekends and occasional use.
just slap some clear bra on and stop worrying about the chips lol.
my bumper is f'd up from chips, bugs, and all sorts of other crap, i gotta get a new paint job and clear bra. my windsheild has at lease 3 cracks on it from rocks flying at me when i'm going 80 mph but they're all smaller than a dollar bill so i can't quite get insurance to pay for them.

on the plus side, my s2000's body and paint is in great condition, the only parts that get the wear and tear of daily driving really is the windsheild and the bumper.

From what I hear, most sports cars you buy at this price range aren't really built to be daily drivers, suspension is just too stiff. But if you're young and don't really care about that then by all means DD it! Enjoy it as much as possible

Would love to drive it every day, but I have to drive kids around as part of my job, and kids beat the hell out of cars like you wouldn't believe. Shoes on seats, dirty clothes, slamming doors on seat belt buckles, poopy pants, runny noses, dirty hands... I don't want to have to police their every movement, so it's better to just take the Accord and let the S2000 feel extra special on weekends. Also it's nice to not "waste" the S2000 on those boring commute miles, and I appreciate the quiet smooth ride, effortless power, and better stereo in the Accord for freeway and urban slogs. It's just a better appliance for the daily driver job than the S2000.

each day i choose which car i want to drive and for what reasons...the S2000 fit the bill most of the time, it has room for a costco or supermarket run in the trunk, it is easy on gas (22-24 in every day), and it is fun over and over again. so most of the time the honda gets the nod.

i am lucky enough to have a 2004 tl 6 speed/nav for my other car and that one fits all the other needs, but gets driven less often.

I couldn't agree more. If I can't have the top down and engine screaming, its pointless to drive it.

There are days that I have my Civic and wish I had my S2000 to help me feel better about a crappy day at work as I commute home. I consider the S2000 to be my fun car, and I don't drive in a fun manner to work...more conservative than that. Sometimes, however, having a fighter jet amongst commercial airlines on the freeway is a blast.... Just depends on the traffic...

When you guys change lanes, do you strictly use the mirrors or do you look over your shoulder?

Two more intermittent wiper settings is all I'd need. Please shoot me before I complain about getting rock chips on a car I could replace for less than $10k.

I used to DD my s2k for about 3 years until i got an 08 avalanche last year. Like everything there are Pros and Cons to each vehicle. Im just happy i have them both

for those of you complaining about the mirror - i would HIGHLY advise looking into a convex mirror. I believe i bought mine from Muz.
