Amen Brother!!! snobs who drives their cars to show people what they're driving not to enjoy it shouldn't be driving our S2K, go by a Beamer or a Benz maybe that will make you proud!!
even though i experienced every complain mentioned in this thread and every down side, but am still in love with my S2K, am obsessed about it, even though i have another car in the house that will save me a little more on gas but am still driving my S2K daily to work which is all around town, sometimes 50 sometimes 150 miles a day , not one time i felt like i can't wait till am home and done driving for the day...

rear windows !!! who cares, the top is down most of the time...
Speakers!!! still load not bad, cost less than $50 to replace them anyways, took me less than 30mins to replace! I'd rather listen to the roar of the exhuast when am cruising 65mph on the highway and drop down to 3rd gear and feel the push like am sitting in a plan that's about to take off!!!
2nd gear grinds sometime as mentioned, but never failed me in a race, always in, with milliseconds of clutch push.
an for whoever is worried about carpet and linings, and all that minor stuff, it's a MAN'S CAR , not some wife's Van that she needs to brag about to the neighbors. Keep the carpet clean and it will look as great as the first day you got it.

Enjoy the ride ! as always !

Agree, agree, agree and...agree. None of them detract from the car, but they are legitimate to mention. To that, I would add:

- removeable rear window (if it HAS to be plastic, give us the option of swapping it out when its beyond repair)

real name (not S2000) and Acura branded

Acura-branded? The only people I have heard say they wish it was Acura-branded are those who care more about nameplates than they do about cars, or don't know enough about Honda to be quietly confident in the rich legacy of racing and engineering behind the badge on their car.

"Acura" only exists as a marketing kludge. It only exists because the meat-and-potatoes red-blooded American market couldn't swallow the idea of an expensive Honda. Saying you wish it was Acura-branded admits to the same short-sightedness. Give me a break. Did you buy your S2000 for the conspicuous-consumption factor?

The only people I know who think/say "but, its just a Honda" are the same people who have not followed the automobile industry for very long to know better than to say that.

I am very glad, and very proud that Honda didn't play that stupid game with this car. If you have a problem with it being a HONDA I honestly think you should go find yourself another car.

To the rest of the world, who are far less materialistic, the Honda name was just fine.

If (when? ) I buy an NSX in North America, one of the first and only tasks will be to replace the marketing-kludge 'Acura' badge and proudly replace it with the Honda emblem.

Strong bump but since this thread has been brought back to life I'll add my .02.. Things I don't like about my S2K:

- Stock audio is terrible and even with an upgraded deck and good speakers you'll still need an amp to really enjoy your music on the highway with the top down. But who cares, my top's down and I've got red seats. I'm a bawse.

- No f@#king torque, but the car more than makes up for it above 6,000rpm. Jekyll and Hyde..

- Makes no serious power NA but will make Godly amounts of power and do it reliably with boost for many thousands of miles.. On a stock motor at that.

- My 2001 doesn't have any f@#king door cubbies. Lame. Oh well, 9K all day.

- No steering wheel adjustment.

- Has multiple dings and dents from people who don't care about other people's cars. f@#k you society!

- Bitch made horn. Who cares though, giving the finger will suffice.

- Much, much more. But all in all, I love this car. I can only hate on it when I'm not driving it because the moment I get in and turn it on, I'm overwhelmed with excitement and adrenaline. Stupid Honda, always playing with my emotions.

Excuse my rant folks, I'm a little "off"..

Wow...props on the thread resurrection!

I have to agree with Touge here.... Mr. Bond would not approve the S as a DD for any mission.
