Default What gas is best?

I went on 8thcivic.com site and I came upon this shell V-power thread

http://www.8thcivic.com/forums/showthread.php?t=37155

and many driver claims they feels quicker and more mileages to the car. Anyone have similiar result with shell? or any other brand would like to recommend?

I read on some tuner magazine long time ago say that "you should pump chevron every 1200miles, other than that any other is fine."
That my info.

what are your .02 cent on this?

Hmm, most major brand gasolines are similar. Many of the Shell stations here are blending with alcohol so I tend to avoid those Shell stations as there is no sense paying a premium price for gas that nets lower gas milage.

The civic can probably take a little advantage from the higher octane, but the S2000 requires the hi-test to begin with. But it could be all in their head. The weight added from a fill-up should make the car noticably slower, so it would be real tought to judge the increase without timing laps or 1/4 mile with the same full tank.

WOW... My house we have a 03 Camry V6 and we been pumping costco gas, but last night I considered and tried the Shell gas. This morning after my mom take it to work and come back. So I turn on the car to move it a side to put the S in the garage and afterward I come back to the car and I could have sworn that I left the car on. Because it was dead silent, then I reverse the car out no problem and realized that the car idle very quiet with the shell gas or maybe it just fluke.

O yea has anyone seen Shell commercial http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7qT_q8PXFrw this is the most expensive commercial.

After I watched this, I want to make my car sound like the F1 car, so any muffler or intake that would sound like that?

We're swamped with 3 types of gas stations up here: BP, Marathon and Speedway. The only Shell station is far on the south side. I can't say I've noticed a difference between the three above, I may have to take a special trip to see if there's a difference.

Most large metropolitan areas are mandated by the EPA to use reformulated gasoline (RFG). RFG contains ethanol (alcohol) and as previously cited, ethanol only has about 2/3 rds the energy content of pure gasoline. Ethanol is blended into gasoline at anywhere from 5 to 10 percent on a volume percent basis which results in a small "hit" to gas mileage. Ethanol has extremely high octane (>100), but refiners and blenders adjust the basestock gasoline prior to ethanol blending so that they are not "giving away octane" and so they hit the customary numbers of 87, 89, and 92/93.

As for additive packages, the top ones come from the name brands including Chevron, Shell, and Exxon.
