Look its simple, at 2k rpms you have considerably low horsepower and torque correct, thus pushing that 2800 lbs becomes harder to do, not rocket science.

I cannot believe ANYONE, let alone 18 anyones, bothered to post to this thread!

It makes me want to think of a whole family of equally stupid questions:

How hard do you pull when you open the door?
How many bars show on the gasoline gauge when you add gasoline?
When you wash your S2000, how closely do you monitor the wash water's temperature.

7+/- 1 inch lbs
about 20 or so
usually about 68 degrees

this is s2k talk right, so why cant we ask these questions? might be stupid to you but some people are curious.

oh yea also what speed do guys shift when comming to a stop, i mean downshift.
0 for stop. Or after braking for turn, never during. Then directly to gear required.

And you didn't ask, but when cruising up to highway speed from entrance, at about 5000 through gears 1,2,4,6.

You mean youre not in gear when going into a turn, thats dangerous, if you have to get out of the way you cant.

Cruising at 40mph - either 3rd or 4th gear depending on what type of mood I'm in. Not enough power in 5th or 6th at that speed in my opinion, I would think that most here would agree w/ me on that one. Plain & simple cruising at 40mph in 5th or 6th gear just isn't very fun.

If this question was for me, and still talking cruising, I downshift before a tight turn directly to gear needed. No rowing down intermediate gears.

At a stop sign. I shift down after braking, to neutral if I have to wait long, otherwise to first.

As for dodging, I try not to pull out in front of people in the first place, since where I live that is often a pickup doing 80. Or a semi. Or a semi-conscious SUV driver from the dude ranch next door taking its half from the middle.

I put the car in neutral whem coming to a stop... I'd rather save my trans and clutch than my brakes.
