Haven't had that happen in the S2000 yet, but I did in the Bertone! (he used the missing front plate as an excuse, just gave me a warning, not even a fix-it ticket).

I've only had this car for about two months now, but almost every time I've taken it out, I've gotten a question or comment.

S2000s seem to be quite rare in the Cleveland area, especially during the winter months, although I have spotted quite a few myself since I got mine. Maybe because I'm keeping an eye out for them...

I don't get asked that question as much as I used to (maybe I don't look friendly )

I get a lot more people staring at the car than anything else.

people are always asking me about the car... from miata owners who know the car, to gas station guys who don't, and finally a whole slew of middle-aged (and older) housewives... this is interesting.

i like good coffee and have been approached by a number of older women at some of the silicon valley's better coffee purveyors (not starbucks!!!, but that's a nother thread) with the "what kind of car is that", "it's beautiful", "great colors (sebring/red )".... the best one was from a woman in her early-to-mid 60's that gave me a thumbs up and simply said "cool car!". that one thru me off a bit.

so i guess, my s2000 has been most popular with the bridge-and-tea set. i'm married with a kid, haven't had many young women go gaa-gaa about my s2k , but the housewives seem to appreciate it

I don't own a S2000 but I get similar reactions from my red MR2, especially since I live in South Carolina. It's always great to see the puzzled look on the faces of people who don't have a clue what my car is. I just wish I had a Silverstone S2000 to get the same reactions.

It seems younger guys in my area (I mean 16-18 young!) are the greatest admirers of my car. There's a lot of aftermarket civics and supras in my area and they ALL seem to honk when they pass by my "stock" S2K.

The other day at a McDonalds, this kid working the first window (with a huge grin when he saw my car) hollered for his friend to come check out the car (I heard as I was pulling up to the next window). His friend stuck his head out the window and said "yeah, that's beautiful! It's a boxster" I hollered back it was a Honda and they both came around to the second window to check it out.

What I find MOST amusing is the admiration coming from beautiful sedans that I'VE always admired. There's nothing better than driving through an intersection and having someone in a CLK or M5 follow my car as I drive through the intersection. I'd LOVE to think it's ME, but I never got this reaction when driving my '90 Honda Civic Hatchback!

Yeah, I usually get the 'nice car' or thumbs up sign now. The area I live in has a decent amount of car-educated people. My coworker saw the car when I met up w/ him to give him his disk he'd left at the office. I guess he was expecting to see me in my integra because he almost passed me up (i was parked at the gas station we were supposed to meet). He was like, 'what car is that?' I told him it was the S. He responded, 'that is a sweet ride!' I just kept looking at the car.

Another time my dad and I pulled up at an intersection and there were these girls in a convertible (i forgot what car it was) in the next lane, 2 cars ahead. They looked back at the car and were talking. Then the driver revved her engine. I promptly acommodated and revved the S. They heard my exhaust and promptly looked back again. I love driving that car

What I don't like are some of the rice-burners in my area that are always looking for a challenge so they always try to get us to street race w/ them. We just ignore them now cuz it's not worth it.
