What made you decide to get an s2000.

 

It was time too part with my 1995 M I bought new. I looked at :

CPO M3
CPO 330 ci PP
G35 6 speed
IS300
350Z

BMW - expensive to buy and maintain
G35 - interior was boring even on new ones - car is big
IS300 - unique but underpowered - fun car to drive
350Z - cheap interior - felt heavy

Honda -
very unique even after 5 years
well priced
reliability
power
drive
interior

 

What made me get one?
-The 04 redesign! That and I could finally afford one.

 

What made me get an S2000?

1. Performance
2. Nimble steering
3. The capabilities of oversteering it if you know what you are doing.
4. The looks. It has nice lines from the hood that goes all the way back to the trunk.
5. I think its a rare car to find on the roads. Too many BMWs and Zs out on the road. I like to be different.
6. 9000 rpm redline. VTECing is fun and relieves my stress from a hard days work.
7. Formula 1 like HUD makes me feel like I'm in a race car.

 

I was tired of repairing my Audi and the $$$ it ate, plus I wanted something sporty. Contenders were cars close to the Audi, being enclosed sport coupes - 330Ci, G35C, RX-8, or a convertible - S, Z4, MS Miata, 350ZC.

I gave up on German cars b/c of the money/maint issue, plus the Z4 was too ugly to own. The G35C and RX-8 were nice, but eventually I decided I wanted a convertible, so I have an S.

After driving my friends Lotus Elise around Lausanne before you could buy one here. My WRX was on the auction block as soon as I got home. The S2000 was the rawest car on the market at the time I could buy new.
