What made you switch to an s2000?

When I finally got it I just couldn't believe it was happening. For weeks I kept thinking, "Oh @Q#%! I'm sitting in an S2000 and it is mine!"
It's not a Ferrari or a 911 GT3 or anything, but it was my dream car and now it's mine.
I still can't walk away from it after a drive without turning my head around to check and make sure it's really there and I wasn't just dreaming.

everyone who rides in it tells me i'm crazy for putting up with it as a daily, but i couldn't be happier. i'm used to driving around in a stripped car w/ no a/c, so the s was easy to get used to. easily the best purchase i've ever made.
Well, March of 2008 I bought a used Chevy Cobalt SS/SC. After several months and $$$$ of modding, I had a very quick DD that I figured I'd be driving for many years to come. The sound of the supercharger screaming is something I truly miss.
Anyways, this past January between jaunts of flying in and out of town for business i wrecked the damn thing. It was the coldest night all winter here in Memphis ~15 degrees, the streets were cold, my tires were cold and I went into a curve that I've gone into hundreds of times before, but didn't factor the temperature and my rear tires lost traction..... this is a fwd car and never in a million years would have expected that, I wasn't even going fast. But I digress, it is what it is. It went off the road and rolled over, surprisingly no glass not even the sunroof shattered. So I can attest to the structural integrity of the Cobalt... it's sound.
Anyways, now I have to replace her and I searched for another one for 3 weeks, with no luck. They're just not very common in this area, and so I gave up. With my insurance company valuing it at more than I originally paid for it, and also getting a refund check from the warranty I bought at the time of purchase, and at the same time I got my income tax refund....I had quite a bit of money for a nice down payment.
I decided to step up from a sporty car to a real sports car, and since I'm replacing a car I really liked, I figured I'd get something I've always wanted, namely a convertible. After some extensive research, the S2000 was really the only one that fit my criteria. It just so happened that the Carmax where I had bought my Cobalt had an S2000 on their lot. I took it for a test drive and that was all the convincing I needed. I drive it every day (if I'm not on my motorcycle) and love it. I put the k&n fipk on it and love the growl of vtec just as much as I did the whine of the supercharger. And being able to drop the top is just the icing on the cake.
This is truly the best car I've ever owned on so many levels. I'm glad I coudn't find what I was originally looking for, because I ended up with something far superior.

I needed a fun daily driver that I could track, mod a little bit, and must be a honda. I was very close to pulling the trigger on a rsx-s but for only a little more I found out you could get an Ap1 so it was a done deal. S2000 is everything I wanted out of a honda.
Well I dont even own a s2000, but I can tell you why I will own one soon, and will forever. First I had always been into the car scene. All my friends drive nice cars, and they all love to track them.. So going back I was 17(im now 21) MY friend had a EvoIII. He took me for a ride in it, and of course I was wow this is fast! I then started looking for a car that I could just fall in love with like him and his Evo. Then it happened, I saw something that said Honda s2000.. I didn't even like Hondas, but I looked into it just because. Found out the solid specs, and it handled like a dream. I had to drive one. Then finally local Honda dealership got in a 2002 Silver s2k with a hardtop. I finally went and drove it, scared the crap out of the sales guy(doing 110 getting onto the interstate) I was hooked, I had to have one, and ever since then I have thought about it night and day. Now im just waiting for that right one to pop up, and it will be mine forever. LONG LIVE Honda S2000!
Looked at a lot of cars and have owned quite a few.Always like the rx7 but dat rotory engine made me nervous about the reliability. My dd is an srt4 and has a whole lot of torque,250ft lbs at 2200 rpms and I like it alot but GF needed a car so that was an excuse for me to get something.First impression driving an ap1:I thought there was something wrong with it,absolutely no torque and then I remember that I had 9k rpms to play with
The car grew on me fast, shifting in vtec and the stock ap1 exhaust note is priceless
Now,I have an ap1 SC and an ap2 BB HT but still miss my stock ap1.They are all good and it doesn't feel like your driving a regular car,it feels special

Where are you at, buzz?
I wrote in here earlier, but my car was down for a week (airbags deployed on small fender bender) Used a Z28 camaro for a WEEK. changed back to the S and I realized why I bought the first s2k I test drove. The driving is pure bliss. Light as hell on its feet and just...fun feeling!

I had 2 Acura Integras before that, FWD was fun esp when I had my boosted GSR, but I got tired of people asking for rides too and then leaving crap all over my car and my buddy had an AP1 and let me take it for a spin and I never wanted to get out of it, so when I came back from the Philippines after a month vacation, I went on an S2000 hunt and came across this 05 Rio Yellow and it was like calling me and once I sat down, I knew I had to have it, so then I sold my Integras and then what do you know. 05 S2k, wouldn't change it for the world.
