What made you switch to an s2000?
got out of college and wanted to finally get a sports car. fastest car id driven was an A6. wanted a stick.
for the price, you cant beat the transmission, handling/responsiveness and awesomeness of a 9000 rpm redline
went to testdrive one an hour and a half away. drove it for 10 minutes, got out and said, i'll call you tomorrow becuase i am gonna come back with money to buy it. had lots of hangups trying to get the title/money situation squared away and a month later i FINALLY drove it home. i drove up, bought it, left my accord in the parking lot and drove home. went back later that day with someone to pick up the accord that i left in a parking lot.
forgot to mention it was the first car i test drove
i had narrowed it down to the s2000 and the 350z. i hadnt planned on looking at 2 seaters or even a convertible for that matter. i had a red e36 325is that my parents let me drive, it was red and was a cop magnet in my eyes but for the price you just cant beat the s2000. had me sold immediately. even if it was another red car...

My last car was a EJ1 (Honda civic 94 2dr ex
d16z6 soch).
^ was my first car that I liked before that I had a Chevy S10 pickup 95' 2wd auto
My first car was a 87' mazda pickup 4wd it wasnt capable of going over 45mph on flat ground
There were many reasons I got my S2K, I researched and researched for a long time before I decided, I wanted it and even after that, I waited for the deal that was right for me, for months.
I like
9k
RWD quick syncronized 6spd tranny 50/50 balance & Hondas legendary reputation
The best HP/litre output of any piston powered production vehicle in history
^even after 9 years
Its apearance in Initial D swayed me obviously- C sig
I had out grown my 1.6 single cam fuel sipper, I wanted more power
I
N/A
I
Japanese cars- almost a Honda fanboi
I liked RX7's almost as much but too unreliable
Honda RWD thats cheaper and better looking than NSX
RWD honda that actually has the engine in the right end of the vehicle
I love the Headlights and the whole exterior actually
I didnt like Convertables but I bought it anyway... The convertable actually grew on me in those first few months but not enough so I ripped it out of there motors and all. Then I slaped a Mugen CF hardtop on there for good and called it perfect!
I
my S and I will keep it 4ever!

Was looking at getting a RWD car with a little bit of power and good handling. Seen an ad in a local paper for an RX-8 for sale at a good price. Went to look at it and found the price was incorrect. Luckily they had a DC5 Intgera Type R in the showroom too. Drove it and loved it, so I bought it. (Couldn't find any S2's at the time. Very rare car here.)
Had the Type R for 2 years. Loved the looks, handling and the engine but still wanted RWD. Eventually sold my DC5 and got a car importer to get me a low mileage berlina black AP1 from the UK.
I guess going from the Integra to the S is a very natural step to take. Have it for over a year now and loving every minute of it.

haha, evan&monica, I totally agree about your NSX comment. I think the s2000 is quite possibly the best looking car to come from Honda.
Toyota has their supra and their 2000GT, but what else does honda have other than the s2000? I dislike the NSX look because it looks too plain for a 'supercar'. Its like a ferrari that got...unferraried. lolz

Well I'm NOT going to bore you with all the cars I've had, there has been everything from Honda beaters for winter to Fast American muscle to SUV's and still have my Hot Rod S-10. But back when I was in high school my best friend had a Datsun 2000 and that was one sweet little car, rev hard and handle like on rails and I thought that I would someday like to own one, maybe a resto rod type sports car with all new guts. My story is in the Intro section about my first encounter with a S2000, My first time behind the wheel of one (2003 Silverstone w 5600mi on it). I had no plans of buying the car just killing some time at the dealership and ran the crap out of it but it won me over. The S2000 was everything I wanted! period, all in one neat little package. I did some research on the internet about the S2000 and within a 2 week period of my first drive I went back and bought it! Then 1 month later put it in winter storage with just 5900 mile on it. ( oh that hurt!!) Just waiting on spring now. I'm going to enjoy it when it comes!!
BUT now if you get a copy of Super Street Magazine (January 2009 issue) on page 108 is the Datsun 2000 that I would have built, That sure brought back a lot of good memories that me and my good buddy once had. Because of those memories I now have one heck of a little sports car!

I didn't switch to an S I just bought one to add to the normal collection of cars.
I was running for elected office a few years back and had a campaign guy working on the team that would drive me every now and then to events.
He had a old Triumph in cherry condition. I so enjoyed the top down commute that one day I was walking from a breakfast at a local place and passed a Honda dealer. Saw an S in the window. "Nice" I said and it's new, a Honda and had that similar roadster look.
A couple of hours later ask the +1 to go take a look at it. She checked out the size of the trunk to make sure it fit a sewing machine (she's a craft nut). It would fit and she said "get it if you want it".
Got on the internet - recieved a couple of quotes from internet departments and took the lowest back to the dealer and said match it and we got a deal. They did and I drove it home.
I never drove it - just knew it would work out. After all it's a Honda.
