I went to Honda today to buy a replacement for the antenna that got stolen from my car today and decided to get my maintenance fluids while iw as there. I asked what kind of Differential fluid they had, and they gave me some Sta-Lube HYPOID SAE 80W90 Gear Oil. (this is exactly what it says on the bottle) Has anyone heard of this product or used it? I haven't opened it yet, so i can still return it.
For Tranny Fluid I'm going to run GM Syncromesh Friction Modified.... part #12377916
And for Diff I'm gonna run... LE-607 Almasol SAE 90
I had LE-607 for a year, I did not like the feel of shifting, specially into first gear. Sometime the first gear pop out when I was at red light, one or twice a weeek. I changed diff fluid to Mobil1 75W90 and transmission fluid to GM SFM about 5-6 months ago, I did not have any problem with first gear pop out any mone.
Engine = Shell (buy domestic
) Helix Ultra 5W-40
(changing to 0W-40)
Transmission = Honda MTF (2 I believe)
Diff = Honda GL5 stuff.
Dealer I went to before put wrong (not ATF but not gl5 spec) oil in diff and it cracked up over time making the car harder to handle around corners.
So i'm not going there anymore.

DO NOT USE THAT FLUID. If you do, after a couple thousand miles, you'll be trying to chase that dealership down to replace your $3500 diff.

as for me:
Engine: Havoline
Diff: Mobil 1
Tranny: Honda MTF
Engine: Mobil-1 Full synth 10w30
Tranny: GM Synchromesh Friction Modified
Diff: Mobil-1 75w90
I just switched to mobil 1 in the engine at 10,500 miles. I used to use amsoil in my cars, but due to the extra cost + shipping, I switched to mobil-1 a few years ago.
GMSM helped slightly with notchy shifting when cold, and generally smoothed out all shifts. I think it's a good substitute. I've been using it about 2500 miles.
I plan to swap out the diff oil again in the spring to check for particles. I will be sticking in some LE-607 I picked up then to give that a try.

I have heard some recommendations of what to use. But I wanna know what every one really puts in their s2k regarding differential and transmission oil and where you buy them. Let me know
