Sorry for stealing this from Mikes2k......see that black square under the left/center part of the trunk? That has a rubber flap that has something to do with air flow and can be causing you problem, I'd try propping it open and see if that is the source.

I have the same noise from the moment I fitted the Tein Flex on the S. It comes from the rear right (passenger side) and it feels like the suspension makes this sound! Am not sure if this is the reason since sometimes the noice comes and goes. Any other suggestions?

Are your shock absorber nuts tight?
If you don't have those tight, the shock shaft will rattle around in the hole and can be quite annoying.

i think we have the same issue.

i think its just the top metal spring perch on the flex's rubbing against something. mine only really makes the noise if its cold.

I had a similar problem for over a year. It got so bad that I removed my sub and amp, wiring, trunk panels, carpeting, rear tray and side panels. 1 freaking year I put up with this shit. Finally, one day after work when it was especially bad, I got so frustrated that I traded my car in for a Ford Escape on the way home. Sheetmetal trunk and all.

Now my rear view mirror buzzes and I have this strange rattle from way back in the cargo area.

You're damned if you do and you're damned if you don't...

Actually I don't think it's my Tien Flex coils since I already had all the bolts torqued to spec. The sound my car is making is definitely a loose panel hitting something when I hit those bumps.

But for those of you with Tien coils, I used a remedy I learned from working on my m3 - just buy some gasket material and using the upper shock mount as a template, cut out a matching gasket and you will find the squeaking sound is gone!

I spent the better part of last night stripping my trunk again removing the amp rack, tool rack, etc. and starting from scratch. Drove the car around the block with the top up to eliminate any issue with the top saggin into the trunk and noise is gone!

I put the top down and drove around next and still no noise.

So that leaves the problem areas is either my amp rack or tool kit. Going to start putting one item at a time back in to see but I think it is my amp rack after all!
