If you wanna have some real fun, cruise in rush hour traffic between 6k and 8k rpms.

Yeah, that's always fun. If I'm in no hurry, I'll shift at ~4krpm, but if I'm in a good mood, I'll be hitting redline every shift (though it may not be full throttle acceleration, I'll still only shift at >8000rpm).

Another thing that's fun: Driving 25-30mph in your neighborhood in 1st gear. It's fun, though I don't think your neighbors would approve.

In city driving I find myself shifting between 3.5k - 4k. I guess I could shift higher, but I don't see the point really.

If you are in a middle of a turn/on ramp when it's raining and you have worn tires, then it's good to shift at about 10,700 rpm. Make sure you keep the gas floored when you abruptly let the clutch out.

Try this with the cruise control on.

Nothing wrong with this. Just because the car can go to 9 grand, we don't have to feel compelled to use up most of it on every shift. For normal day to day routine driving (and there are those of us who do this), we don't find it necessary to garner attention by VTECing from one stop light to another. To each his own.
